Rating: Summary: Bland Review: Summer Sisters made for easy ready and it was certainly pleasurable, but I expected more from Judy Blume. I don't really feel that it was geared to adult readers. The characters were superficial..no depth what-so-ever. The story was bland and the jumpy manner in which it was written did not appeal to me. I still remember the Judy Blume books which I grew up such as "Forever" and "Are you there God, it's me Margaret." But as an adult ready, Judy's style leaves much to be desired. Sorry Judy!!
Rating: Summary: I loved this book!! Review: I'm 21 years old and feel like I went through every thing they did the exact same way vix and catlin did! I cried and laughed through the entire book. I coldn't put it down!
Rating: Summary: Brilliant Review: This book touched my heart in so many ways. It reminded me so much of me and my best friend Christina, that I gave my copy to her to read. This book will make you laugh, will make you scared, will make you cry, and will make you wonder,"How does Judy Blume create these brilliant stories?" The characters are so well thought out. And I just LOVE Vix's relationship with Abby! It is just beautiful. Nathan and Caitlin will both take a special place in your heart. If I could, I would give it 10 stars. *WONDERFUL!* -Carmen Miles
Rating: Summary: What a great book, couldn't put it down! Review: What an interesting story. This book made me laugh, sad, and at the very end the unexpected made me cry. Loved it!
Rating: Summary: excellent description of female relationships Review: I could not put this book down once I began to read it. I am 29 years old, and I have had so many relationships/friendships in which I was Vix that I cannot count them. Because of this, I have very limited contact with women now. The pain of being betrayed is hard to handle, but the pain of letting go and not having a friend at all is equally hard.
Rating: Summary: It was the most touching, intriguing book I have ever read. Review: Me being a 17 year old girl going through about everything in this book, the hard college decisions the love affairs, having what you thought was your closest friend in the world and then you turn around and they back stab you or they do something that you would never think they could ever be capable of doing.. Everything in this book is like what goes on today... It touched me and inspired me so... That I told all my friends that they just had to read this book... I think Judy should come up with a sequel cause I would absolutely read it and I know others would also... I Loved it... It was one of the best books!! One that you know you will never forget about, cause it touched you so....
Rating: Summary: heartbreaking... Review: this story hits close to home for many women... very disapointed that vix did not end up with Bru. the ending seemed more contrived and not as flowing as the rest of the story.
Rating: Summary: To those who say they don't like this book: GET REAL!! Review: This book takes an honest look at a time that many of us forget; a time when all we had was our feelings and instincts and therefore lived from our heart. Not everyone will be comfortable looking back at those days, but I say it's a great learning experience and helps address many feelings that remain unclear to those living solely in the future and not enough in the past! Because it's such a quick and easy read, even the couch potatoes won't miss that much TV time.
Rating: Summary: An All Nighter book Review: This is one of the best books I have ever read. It is so discriptive, and very realistic. I started reading it and couldn't put it down. I read the whole thing in a day. It was that good
Rating: Summary: Yuk... Review: Bloom should stick to writing children's books
