Summary: a great look at friendships
Review: Mrs. Bloom has an amazing way of capturing the reader. She begins the tale with two friends understanding themselves and their friendship. As the two friends grow old the author weaves in family relations, lovers, and enemies. Bloom writes from her heart and real life experience. Bloom shows how two bestfreinds that were inseperable can suddenly grow apart, unconsciously. I couldn't put it down. When I wasn't reading it I wished that I was. Everything that Bloom wrote about I had experienced one time or other in my life. Amazing!!

Summary: A GREAT Book
Review: This book is such a good book I couldn't put it down until I finished it. Judy Blume is an excellent author and I have always and will always love her books. This book is good because it focuses on love, friendship, and everything in between. I think this book is a great one for anyone to read who is going through life now, in their 20's. I know that I really related to this book and I'm sure others will too. It's a GREAT book to read.

Summary: Movie material! I'd love to adapt it for the big screen!
Review: I've read this book about eight times since i bought it. It's a near perfect write - insightful, entertaining, realistic, and... easy to read! No flowery language. That's the best kind of writing, writing that can accomplish poignancy and life with out fifty-cent words. The last few times i've read this book, i found myself acting it out, crying without knowing it because i'd get so caught up in the feeling and emotion. I think this would be an excellent, academy-award-class drama. If Judy Blume ever reads this review, I'd love to adapt this as a screenplay.... not to mention i'd love to be in it! I can't decide between caitlin and vix. vix's character would be the best-actress winner, but i think i might like to play caitlin. I identify so much with some of her feelings... Well, Ms. Blume, if you see this, give me a holler. This book's got star potential!

Summary: A Must Read For Every Woman!!
Review: This book really hits close to home.. everyone has had that one friend who is so addictive that you love and hate her at the same time. That is the relationship that Vix and Caitlin have in this book. This book relives the tender moments that every woman experiences with that one friend...the one who is like "a sister".

This book was absolutely magnificent! I loved reading it and I couldn't put it down. A great start for Blume's first adult novel. I can't wait till she comes out with another one!!

Summary: No major intellectual feat here, just a really good read...
Review: Having grown up reading all of Blume's books, I was a bit skeptical at what she would be able to do with an adult novel. My skepticism proved unfounded. What we have here is a well-written, poignant story about best friends and the elaborate network of ties that bind them. Though this book certainly evokes a multitude of emotions as we follow the two women's very different approaches to life, "Summer Sisters" is not made of the same meaningful, straight-to-the-heart stuff that many of her young adult books are. But it is a great story and any woman who has had a best friend like Caitlyn - someone you love so fiercely that you can never hate them, regardless of how much they deserve it - will surely appreciate it as much as I did.

Summary: Remember your best friend when growing up?
Review: If you ever had a best friend while growing up, Judy Blume's Summer Sisters is worth spending an afternoon by the pool to finish this read. Caitlin Sommers is the best friend you always wanted to have but almost knew you couldn't. You'll love her until you hate her, but then discover that she needs your love almost as much as you need to give it--just as her best friend Vix realizes. The relationship between Caitlin and Vix is more than a friendship--it's a common bond of experiences and shared fantasies and dreams--the kind of sharing that takes your insides out--you know this person will always know you, really KNOW you. The best friendship book I've read since Jane Eyre and her Helen Burns.

Summary: Amazing
Review: I thought that Summer Sisters was a truley amazing story. The relationship between Vix and Caitlin was one that many people could relate to. I let one of my friends borrow it and we both couldn't put it down until we were through. I have read it over and over again. I highly recommend this book
