Summary: summer sisters
Review: I really enjoyed this book. It kept my intrest thru the whole book. I didnt want to stop reading . I felt if i did i would miss something almost like in real life. The friendship fo the girls was great and reminded me of me and my cousin. I like judy blume as a writer and in my oppinion this was probably the best of her books. I liked how she took us through the many years of the girls life. She made it seem like a normal life. I also loved the weird twist at the end of the book. i never expected what happened to happen. So I would suggest this book to anyone who likes a excitng book with a great ending.

Summary: One of the worst books I've ever picked up
Review: I don't understand the excellent reviews of this book. It reads like a soap opera. I barely made it through the first 100 pages and then skimmed through the rest and decided I just did not care what happened to these girls.

Summary: A keeper!
Review: I picked this book up and then returned it to its shelf a few times before I actually bought it. But after reading it, "Summer Sisters" has earned a place on my "keepers" shelf. It was quick reading and that's good because I couldn't put it down. I'd find myself thinking about these characters when I wasn't reading the book, always looking forward to seeing what would happen next. My only complaint: So much time was covered in such a short amount of space, I just wish there had been more detail, especially about the characters' adult lives. By that time, I felt vested in the outcome and characters of the book and felt a little short-shrifted that time was passing so rapidly. The book came to a conclusion too quickly. I'd love to see a sequel...

Summary: Excellent summer read
Review: Someone gave me a copy of this book, and when I first looked at it I thought it was going to be corny, but I was REALLY wrong!! This is one of the best books I have ever read, and one I could read again, and again. It is the perfect book for summer. If you really like trashy romance novels, you will love this book! I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a really good summer read!!

Summary: AWESOME!
Review: I haven't read a book in a long time and a week ago I picked this up and LOVED it so much. I read it in just a few days even though i usually can't make time to read. The ending was great and left me wanting more. I strongly suggest this book to everyone!

Summary: ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS EVER!
Review: THIS BOOK WAS ONE OF THE BEST I HAVE EVER READ! IT USUALLY TAKES ME A WHILE TO GET THROUGH A BOOK, BUT I READ THIS IN NO TIME I WOULD DEFINETLY RECOMMEND IT TO ANY GIRL OVER THE AGE OF 15, ITS VERY TRUE TO LIFE. YOU FEEL AS IF YOU BECOME ONE OF THE "SUMMER SISTERS" AND BY THE TIME YOU ARE FINISHED WITH THE BOOK, YOUR SAD BECAUSE YOU DON'T WANT IT ALL TO END. THE ONLY THINK I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT IT, WAS I WISH THAT IT WAS A BIT LONGER SO THERE COULD BE MORE DETAIL DURING EACH YEAR. I GOT A LITTLE LOST DURING THE COLLEGE YEARS, BUT OVERALL, I KNOW THAT I WILL BE READING THIS BOOK MANY TIMES MORE IN THE FUTURE

Summary: Great book, believeable and unforgettable characters
Review: I've read the teenage books by Judy Blume, but this was my first experience with one of her adult books. I enjoyed the format, the writing style, the flashbacks, and the way the characters stepped out of the story to confide to the reader what they were thinking about. The characters seemed like old friends by the end of the story and the open ended conclusion of the book leaves a possibility for Judy to write a sequel about Catlin and Vix should she feel the inclination. Much was said about the character's lives, but much was only implied. We have all known some of the people in this novel and have our own unfulfilled fantasies or completed dreams.

Blume has done a great job with her descriptions so that we could not only visualize the scenes, but could also hear, touch and smell the experiences. I like to picture the framed photograph of the two twelve year olds in Catlin's redone room on the island. I went back and reread parts of the book after the initial read as I found myself asking if there was foreshadowing earlier in the book for some of the things that happened later. Some of it was implied, and some of it was stated. Definately a book and a group of characters I will think about for a long time to come.

Summary: Friends Forever
Review: Two very different girls, Caitlin living a life of privilege and luxury, and Victoria (Vix) a girl who lives in a dysfunctional poor family, become friends and spend their summers together at Caitlin's father's home in Martha's Vineyard. Here the girls become "Summer Sisters".

Over their adolescent years Vix and Caitlin learn many alessons together such as sexuality, boys, dating, love, and betrayal.

A great, quick, exciting, sometimes erotic, read.

Summary: One of the best books that I have read
Review: Summer Sisters is one of those books that you remember for a lifetime. It's one of the most inspirational books that I have read. Judy Blume takes us all back to our childhood of elementary school days when our personalities were identical to Victoria and Caitlin. This story did not change my life in any way but it did give me a better insight on some issues that every girl deals with. Although it had some detail that the story could have gone without, I think maybe without it the story would not have meant as much. There are those who feel the characters did not have much of a personality but I think their personality and feelings toward issues such as: friendships, sex, boys, relationships and all of the struggles that come with it is what made the book what it is. Some may see this book as a disgrace for society, but in reality it is just a novel that teaches the mature audience what some parents would never tell their children.

Without a doubt Summer Sisters will be kept on the shelf for years to come as an all time favorite for my children to read and their children. I would recommend this to all young women from the ages 16 and older.
