Summary: The perfect summer read...
Review: Its nice to take a break from taxing analysis and intellectualism to truly savour a story of summer friendship. (Haven't we all had summer encounters of some sort?) This was light, quick and yet, complex and unpredictable. Certainly, it is not as thick and textured as a Binchey or Pilcher, but it did leave me wanting more or wondering if is there a chance for a sequel?

Summary: I loved Summer Sisters.
Review: I really only wanted something to read going back & forth to work everyday. One night I just couldn't wait till the next day to read this book. I read practically the whole book in one night, I just couldn't put it down. Vix & Caitlin experienced summers that girls dream about. I personally thought the book was great. The only disappointment to me was that it ended. Hope Judy has a sequel coming soon, a good pitch might be to do it from Caitlin's point of view.

Summary: A Great Summer Read!
Review: I just loved this book! I could not put it down. I can't remember the last time I read a book so quickly. After I finished reading it, I could not stop thinking about the characters. This book allows adults to reflect on their childhoods. I was suprised by the number of adult reviewers who actually suggested that this book would be appropriate for young teens. If I had a young teen, I certainly would not let her read this. I think that it's a great book to be enjoyed by adults.

Summary: One of the best adult novels ever!
Review: This was the first adult novel I have ever read by Judy Blume and I must say it is one of the best ever written. This story reminded me of growing up and exploring life and sex. It gave a realistic look on life instead of the normal everything is always great look at life. I would love to see another book like this one. I could not put it down!

Summary: a fast read. kept my attention
Review: a good book. a very fast read. it kept my attention and I read it in less than 2 days. The ending was a little off, but it is open for Judy Blume to right a sequel.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Too much sex
Review: This book involves way too much sex. I would not want anyone under 18 to even read it! In this day and age with HIV and AIDS and all the other horribly infectious diseases out there we should try to be moving AWAY from teens and sex. They should not be encouraged in any way. At least Judy Blume mentions comdoms....All in all, this novel depicts sex as the only thing that keeps people together (Vix and Bru) and I find that outrageous.

Summary: I hated this book!
Review: This was a terrible book. I wish I had the option of 0 stars. Usually I pass along books that I read to friends or family members. I had to throw this one in the garbage because I was too embarrassed to admit that I read it. There are so many great books out there and I'm kind of angry that I wasted my time reading this shallow account of "friendship."

Summary: Two friends become as close as sisters
Review: I was excited to read this book thinking it was an adult novel. I am in my thirties and I thought this novel would be ideal for 16-20 year olds. I think late adolescents would enjoy reading about first time sexual relations. But, I needed more. The characters were shallow. Although I did finish the book and did talk about it to others, so Judy did that much for me.

Summary: Best book this Summer!
Review: I too loved Judy Blume as a teen and can't wait to get my hands on more of her adult novels. I cried and laughed. I thought the ending was perfect! I couldn't put the book down and finsihed it in a week (for a mother of two that is not any easy task) Can't wait to read more of Judy Blume stuff!! Great birthday gifts for Moms and friends.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: OK
Review: I prefer books with a little more sophisticated romance level than Blume offers. Novels like The Triumph and the Glory are far more fulfilling a read. But I often read Blume's stuff anyway even though I vow I never will again, she DOES have the ability to keep you turning the page. If you're 14, or just want some light diversion.
