Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Excellent, captivating novel about 2 girls growing up
Review: This is one of those books that, after a couple of pages, I found my self wanting to read half of it the first day. By the time I go 3/4 of the way through the book, I found myself wanting to "go home and read" so I could find out what happens in the end. I wanted it to end differently, but overall, I highly recommend this book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A wonderful, easy reading book for the summer
Review: I loved Blume's books as a young teenager, and thought I'd give her new adult book a try. I'm glad I did! This novel is filled with emotion and nostalgia. You empathize with some characters and hate others. Almost every young girl wanted to be like Caitlin, making it easy to relate to Vix. I envied the Caitlins of the world as a teenager, however, this book makes you realize that even "perfect" girls are not so perfect. The shocking ending is the icing on the cake.

Summary: Summer Sisters is a good book for summer !
Review: I really enjoyed this book and the characters really jump out of the pages - I did not really get a "feel" of the 80's though because apart from excerpts of songs the mood isn't there in the story - However,I devoured the book in 3 days finishing it finally at 3 in the morning !

Summary: Girls growing up, in an interesting way
Review: It is definitely not what I expected, but then again the last time I read one of her books was when I was ten.

Summary: Summer Sisters is a must-read for women!
Review: This book about two very different teenage girls coming of age together really affected me. It was hard to put it down whenever my son woke from his nap! The idea that Victoria's life headed in such a new direction because of a girl she admired is amazing. Victoria's thoughts and actions were very much influenced by this girl, Caitlin, who becomes her "summer sister". I loved the way it felt to read about Vix's feelings, bringing back some not-always-good memories of my own first love and sexual experiences. Read to find out how these two women relate to one another as adults, and see who they choose to spend the rest of their lives with!!! Great ending!

Summary: Excellent. A work of pure art.
Review: This was the best Judy Blume book I've ever read in my entire life. The characters she creates are so realistic and lifelike, and the friendship between Vix and Caitlin made me want to laugh and cry. Every page of the book was a sharp turn---I never knew where it would head next. At first I thought I knew how it would end by reading the prolouge, but there are complexities underneath it. If you are a Judy Blume fan, you must read this book. It could easily be a guide to my life. The transitions between teen and adult is rocky yet smooth at the same time. A must read.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: As a 13 year old, I loved every page of this "adult book".
Review: I couldn't put this book down because of the intriguing plot twists and the great character development. I've read many of Judy Blume's young adult books, but this one was much more entertaining and rewarding.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: I usually cannot "get into" fiction anymore...
Review: ... opting for non fiction now as an adult, but the characters in this novel were compelling. Judy Blume has a knack for getting readers involved in the characters she creates. When I still had 100 pages left I couldn't help reading the last chapter to find out what would happen to them. That knowledge didn't make the last chapter the second time around any less emotional. I found it interesting that the choice Vix made at age 12, to spend the summer with Caitlin on Martha's Vineyard, changed her future completely. Also that the fate of a character I didn't care for left me profoundly touched, says something about the quality of the plot and characters. I am only ranking this story with four stars because I don't think I will read it again the way I repeatedly reread Judy Blume's children books when I was a child. I cannot put my finger on why I won't read it again though..

Summary: great
Review: What a great book to usher in the summer. I really enjoyed a read that required little thought. Judy Blume has always had a place on my bookshelf.

Summary: I was terribly dissapoimted with Judy Blume on this one.
Review: This was chock-full of sex. I sat down wanting to read just a good book, and this is what i got. I am 15 years old, and have always loved Judy Blume. My opinion of her has sky-rocketed down.
