Summary: From a 15-year-old's POV:
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I myself am a teenager and I found it very enjoyable to read about two teenagers who grew up in a completely different lifestyle from myself. Don't let the adults who have reviewed this poorly stop you from enjoying this book. Any mature 13-year-old would be fully prepared to read this novel... teenagers are much more educated in so-called "adult" topics than many adults... especially parents would like to realize.

Summary: The ups and down of friendship
Review: I am not a huge reader and when I saw at least 3 women reading it in the past few days, I ran out and got it. The minute I picked up this book I knew I was going to have a hard time putting it down. I often found my self in the middle of a work day sneaking a glance at the upcoming pages I would read on the train ride home. I am a 25 year old professional and I have never read anything that compares to my life as this book does. It is a story about the struggles of friendship, romance and death. I have never found a book that touched me the way this one did nor has a book ever made me cry. This book was a cross between the reality of a young womans life and the fantasy of being young again. I recommend this book without reservation. I wish I could find another book that made me feel like Judy Blume does in this book. Run out and get this book now, I guarentee it will bring back a ton of memories.

Summary: Not as I expected.
Review: This book is suppose to gear towards adult women. As an adult woman, I find this book simplistically written, lacking detail, and poor narration style.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: an insightful story about the bonds of friendship
Review: This is a must read for any woman who has ever had a "summer friend". Judy Blume captures the heart of summer friendships and growing up - the bond between two girls that last a lifetime, through even pain and sadness.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Long on angst, short on substance.
Review: Judy Blume is a consummate teen author, and should not have ventured into adult terrain. The most interesting parts of the book are when the 'sisters" are teenagers, it becomes trite and dull when they grow up. Although it appears to be a decent length book that is only because of the numerous pages devoted to one-two paragraph musings from some character. Not terrible, and for a lesser author, acceptable. However, Judy Blume is much better than this would have one beleive.

Summary: This book is awesome
Review: I read this book in three days. Not only did I laugh, but at the end I small tears in my eyes. I have to sisters and the context in this book only reminded me of the things that we share when we talk of our lives. All the characters in this book are different in their own way. Which makes it easy to identify them. This book has so many experiences a young adults face in our society today. I stronly recomend this book.

Summary: A simply wonderful book
Review: It generally takes a lot for me to enjoy a book. This one caught me, I finished it and wanted to read it again. I highly recommend it. I love thought and thinking on life topics. There was a lot of this of stuff.

Summary: A wonderful story of friendship and love that is pure BLUME
Review: Love this book!!! Had to wipe the sand off of every page. Could not put it down!!!! Loved the relationship between Vix and Caitlin (and everyone else that spent their time with them). Funny, sad (I cried), sexy, loving, just plain real!!! Took me back to the summers that I spent with my own "summer Sister"....what happy memories....I wish Judy Blume would write a book every day of her life,,,,, I would read each and every one.....carefully!!!!!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Absolutely fabulous, definently a book to pass on!!!
Review: In this book Judy makes you think of your own childhood. I feel like I won't find another book I'll enjoy as much as Summer Sisters. Visiting the Vineyard one of these summers is definently a must.
