Rating: Summary: This story was dissappointing Review: Though I normally enjoy stories by Blume, I guess that I wasnot prepared for the content of Summer Sisters. It had a few funnymoments, and a few interesting characters, but overall, it was realtively boring. I don't know anyone who thinks of sex as much as the two girls in this story. The read was not worth it.
Rating: Summary: Unbelieable...read it in one day! Review: I had no clue Judy Blume wrote books for adult readers. I sat down to read this book late morning and finished it seven hours later, stopping only for a diet Coke! The book is quick and captivating. I can't wait to read more of her works for adults and hope she continues to write for adults as well as children! I highly recommend this book.
Rating: Summary: Who is her target audience? Review: Is this book for adults or pre-teens? The plot is unoriginal and reads like it is written for 12-year-old girls.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic!!! You won't be able to put it down. Review: I loved this book. I am 25 and have not read anything by Blumesince I was a kid. I thought it would take me a while to read becauseit's a thick book, but I couldn't put it down and read it in a week. Vix & Catlin were fascinating. She really knows how to make characters seem real. I hope they make a movie based on this book! If you like a fast paced novel with lots of juicy stories then this is the book for you!
Rating: Summary: DON'T BUY IT - GO TO THE LIBRARY ! Review: I'm 32 yrs. old. This book was written for a 19 year old. The story went too fast and was blah.
Rating: Summary: Not the best Judy Blume book but.....I liked it anyway Review: This is a great summer read. I didn't enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed her books as a child. What I liked best was the memories it brought back. Vix and Caitlin were believable and I could somewhat relate to them. The power?????? Don't know about that.
Rating: Summary: A Harrowing Coming of Age Story Many Women Can Relate To Review: I absolutely loved this book. I read it in two days. I was unable to put it down. My obsession with the story is how it captures the bittersweet friendship between Caitlin and Vix which is such a typical experience for most women sometime in their lives. Everyone knows and loves a Caitlin, and everyone has a little bit of Vix in her.
Rating: Summary: A sizzling and enticing story. Review: From page one, the story is exciting and captivating. It is an absolute page turner. I've read Judy Blume since I was a young girl, and this has got to be a masterpiece for her adult readers.
Rating: Summary: The best book ever! Review: I'm only 15 and have read and own all of Judy Blume books.I re-read them all the time and still enjoy them. So, i wasnt surprised when i saw this book rated as a best-seller. The begginin was a bit borin, but all books start out that way. By chapter 4 i was hooked. I could NOT put it down!It was really interestin and i enjoyed it a lot. I recommend it to anyone of all ages!
Rating: Summary: A little disappointing Review: Blume moves too quickly and overlooks many opportunities to expound on major life events that she treats as snipits. The story has major potential but Blume has dropped the ball. A trite ending, attempting to play on our emotions. Whatever happened to Margret?
