Summary: A great story, as always
Review: I have always been a fan of Judy Blume's and her latest book did not disappoint me in the least. An engaging, romantic story that doesn't bore you for half a second. Congrats, Judy! This story is from the heart and told in a beautiful way. :-)

Summary: Wonderful quick read
Review: I have found this book to be one of my all time favorites. Blume does a wonderful job of telling a story that most women can relate to. This book hit home on many subjects and I found it most enjoyable to read while visiting my own summer sister. I would reccomend this to any teen girls to women fourteen and up.

Summary: Extremely well written
Review: Judy Blume has a way of expressing feelings most people want to keep to themselves. It's a very thought-provoking story...you can't help but compare your own feelings at that age to Vix's. Weren't we all insecure and hungry for attention then? Some areas are explicit, but no more so than many commercials and TV shows! Grow up people! This is almost the 21st century!

Summary: Interesting twist at the end... a quick read
Review: As a woman of color with a great interest in sisterhood and friendship..this book was not a disappointment. I loved the twist and turns and all of the real life things that both caitlin and vix shared. I would recommend it to all. I especially recommend it to those who have been blessed with spending any amount of time on Martha's Vineyard. I loved knowing about a lot of the places that were mentioned. I have a summer sister and 6 biological sisters...so this was a good treat for me!

Summary: a great book
Review: i bought this book during the summer and i wasn't sure if i would like it or not. i am very picky about books but this book was really good! i couldn't put the book down. this is the third time i am reading it. i was kind of dissapointed about how the book ended, but it was a really good book over all. i think anyone who likes love, and friendship books should definately read Summer Sisters by Judy Blume.

Summary: Loved Judy Blume as a girl, love her as an adult
Review: I grew up on all of Ms. Blume's books because she poignantly captured the plethora of emotions, joys and heartaches of puberty and early adolesence. Ms. Blume manages to maintain this keen insight applying it over a longer time period to capture the story of a girl becoming a woman. I thought the book was great and highly recommend it! A very fast read, you can finish it in one sitting

Summary: A very cheap novel
Review: When I first had "Summer Sisters" in my hands, I couldn't wait to start reading it. But when I started reading it, little by little, I began to feel as if I was reading one of those cheap novels with Fabio hadlf naked on the cover. Summer Sisters has a lot of sex, lots, and lots of it, and the worst of all, is that it disgusts you. The two main characters, when they are 12, rub their private parts against each other to feel "the power", as it says in the book. - I wanted to vomit! It is a very cheap novel. Don't read it.

Summary: Perfection- The best Book I have ever read
Review: This book is amazing. It is a book that every woman should read. I was sad that it had to come to an end when I was reading it, and no other book seems quite as good as Summer Sisters was. I am anxiously anticipating her next novel.

Summary: WOW! SUMMER SISTERS IS GREAT!
Review: I'm probably the only person under 16 to write a review on this page so far so I will enlighten you on my thoughts on this book. It was great! I loved Judy Blume when I was 9 and 10 and now that I am 14 someone told me to read this book but said it was a bit "innapropriate" but hey i thought i live in an innaporopriate world and I'm an innopropriate person! So I picked it up and read it in one lazy Sunday afternoon. I don't usually read very fast so that goes to show how awesome this book was. It really reminded me of my best friend and I in the beginning and I sure hope our friendship doesnt turn out like Vix's and Caitlin's! The characters were really real to me and it was easy to idntify with Vix(the main character). I urge you to go to the bookstore and buy it! Don't just check it out at the library, because you ill wnat to read it twice. I have already passed this book around to a lot of people and everyone has loved it! It isn't appropriate for girls younger than 15 or 16 but any girl 13-14 would still enjoy it. There are a few "scenes" every once and a while and the language can get a tad bit offensive but it is still awesome! PLEASE GO READ IT!

Summary: Blume for grown-ups
Review: Heartbreaking, funny and fascinating all at once. If you loved Blume as an adolescent, if you read "Are You There God, It's Me, Margaret" about a hundred times, if you were coming of age in the late '70's -early '80's, do yourself a huge favor and read this book. You will ache for Victoria and struggle to understand, sometimes struggle to like, Caitlin. The dynamics between these two characters are fascinating. I was not able to put this book down once I began reading it.

The supporting cast of characters is equally fascinating, and you will love how they all meld together in a wonderful mosaic of personalities.

The setting of Martha's Vineyard is perfect for the story and the characters, and in fact becomes a character in itself.

Blume fans, don't miss this. Give yourself this book for Christmas--you won't be sorry. And Ms. Blume, if you're reading this, hurry up and write the sequel!
