Rating: Summary: candy for the brain Review: This book is by no means high quality literature--I call it "candy for the brain"--but we all need a little of that from time to time. As far as an easy, mindless, escapist read goes, this is one of the best I've come across.
Rating: Summary: Great Book! Review: I am an adolescent girl, and this book was really great. I loved how Judy Blume, whose books like Superfudge and Deenie I read when I was younger, has written a lovely story about the bond between two girls that happened over a summer and lasted for a lifetime. Throughout the betrayls and disappointments going on in the lives of the characters, this book stays interesting and doesn't disappoint. However, it wasn't absolutely fabulous (it seemed a bit long) but nonetheless a great read.
Rating: Summary: Interesting.....and easy to read.... Review: I enjoyed this book throughout the entire story. The girls went through puberty together and came out of it okay....well, at least one of them did. I don't usually care for books that have a character "disappear" and then everyone tries to figure out why she left....but this story had a good circle of people in it that kept you interested. Have recommended to others..
Rating: Summary: Summer Sisters rocked my world! Review: This book was a total success! I had my doubts at first, but after the first chapter, I just couldn't put it down! I had to tell all my friends about it. My sister gave this book to me after I got out of the hospital. This book really made me look forward to something at the end of the day. GREAT BOOK!
Rating: Summary: Excellent Book! Review: I usually can't sit down and read for more than twenty minutes but when I started this book I couldn't put it down; I read the entire book in two days! It's a great book for any age, I loved it as did my mom, and I would definately recomend it to everyone!
Rating: Summary: Awesome book! Review: I absolutely loved this book! It was awesome! Everyone has a summer sister in their own way, maybe just to hang out, but this book definatly shows friendship at it's ups and downs... this book shows how friends are made and how they are lost. I felt that the author could have done better with the end 1/4, it seems like she wanted to get the book over. But all in all, this was a really good book! I read it in less than 4 days! get this book!
Rating: Summary: I couldn't put it down! Review: Summer Sisters was an excellent book that any adolescent girl can relate too. It's about the exploration of oneself, coming to love oneself. This book was written with such creative ingenuity, the characters are so charismatic, and the story is so alive, that I read it in one sitting!
Rating: Summary: Perfect read Review: Summer Sisters is one of those books that you can not, or rather don't want to put down. I was engrossed in it for 2 days until I had read it from cover to cover. The story is between Vix and Caitlin, the summer sisters, and the ups and downs they face as their lives take different paths. It deals with romance, backstabbing, everything any woman in the world has gone through with a friend at one point or the other, and we all know about those bonds that drag you back into friendships even when you know that they aren't the best situations. Blume draws in the reader and makes them feel as if they were there, because for most of us women, we have been there in some way, shape or form
Rating: Summary: Absolute banal tripe Review: I cannot understand how anyone would rate this book with more than two stars. It's very immature and only for people who like to read trash romance. I expected more from Ms. Blume, as I was a big fan of her books as a child. This book is easily forgotten.
Rating: Summary: Every little girl has their own summer sister Review: I read this book cover to cover in a couple of hours. I think every one has their own summer sister, I know I have my own. As soon as I was done I wrote my summer sister a letter, telling her how much I missed her. (I guess I'm fortunate enough to still have her in my life.) This is the first book that I have been passionate about in a long time, so if your looking for a good sob fest this is the best book to read for that.
