Summary: The Best Book Ever!
Review: When I first got this book I couldn't tell if I would like it or not. When I got to page 80 I was still kind of iffy, but after that I could not put the book down. It was a one sitting read and it was absolutely one of the best books I have ever read. Caitlin and Vix reminded me not only of myself at times, but of so many friends of mine that have come and gone. I highly recommend this to anyone who has ever had a friend they considered their "summer sister".

Summary: A great book to share around.
Review: This is a wonderful book for both women and teenage girls. I would love to have been able to have discussed it in a mother and daughter book club. I shared my copy with my mother who also loved the charaters in the book. We both shared our outrage at Catlin. I feel this is what Judy Blume wanted as we all have had someone in our lives like Catlin I waited to buy it in paperback and wished I hadn't. I will try to preserve my copy until my daughter is old enough to read it.

Summary: 18 summers in 3 days
Review: I picked up the book to read on the beach when I went on vacation. I was a little hesitant because of the length. When I opened the book I could not put it down. I felt I was living the summers with Vix and Kaitlin. It was like they were living my summer as I laid on the beach. I laughed and cried right along with the girls. It was a book that I felt was close to young womens heart everywhere. It made you see many perspectives of life. How you could be on one end and your friend on the other and suddenly without warning you switch sides. It is a book I recommend for young women everywhere. A great book for the beach! Erin Pomakoy

Summary: BUY THIS BOOK!
Review: I haven't really been a fan of Judy Blume's just for the simple fact that all her books seemed to speak to a younger audience. But not this one! I ordered this book from Amazon on a whim and it ended up being, I think, one of the best books ever written. It is the fascinating story that starts off with two young girls who come from very different worlds. One is quite rich while the other is just scraping by. This book follows these two girls lives up until they are about 36. It follows all their heartache and joy and the ending will leave you wishing that their were at least a 100 more pages. It ends superbly. But watch out! The ending is kind of a tear-jerker! Fans of Wally Lamb's SHE'S COME UNDONE will love and appreciate this book.

Summary: I'ts worth 6 stars!
Review: Once again, Judy Blume has read our minds and translated what we think into what we want to read.

This brilliantly written story of Caitlin and Vix, the Summer sisters who share a different kind of friendship. They are inseprable yet so different from one another. It trails their lives for eighteen summers and followes their decisions and thoughts.

This excellent book made me laugh, cry and think about life and the decisions we make that could completely change our lives. The way Judy Blume has written makes you wonder if you are actually a part of the book because you feel and see what the characters are going through.

My brother gave me this book for Christmas one year, and I have so far read it five times. My brother asked me once," Oh my god! Why on earth are you reading tha book again?" I answered him, " Evertime I read this book it's like I'm reading it for the first time, and it's so good, that nothing I read now even compares to it!"

So I think this book deserves six stars! Thanks Judy!

Summary: Fantastic
Review: I was very impressed with Summer Sisters. I couldn't put it down. Through the whole book, you felt you became closer and closer to the characters, Vix and Caitlyn. Then, at the end, you are truly upset by the conclusion. It's an easy read, but it's really sweet and happy. I liked it.

Summary: I love this book!
Review: This is a fast-paced, moving story portraying a very special, magical and complicated friendship. It takes us through the girls' adolescent years til they grow up and get their own jobs. The two girls had very different characters, one who's outrageous, adventurous and loves excitment. The other, who's self confident, harding working and trustworthy. The two survive difficult times and laugh through their fun times together. How can this friendship break? What came in between them? This book is great for everyone, to those who have- or haven't- experienced the true meaning of friendship. This book will bring you sometimes joy, sometimes tear, or maybe both at the same time. Two thumbs up, Blume! You're my favorite author!

Summary: Great book!
Review: I'm not the intended audience for this book, but out of curiosity about the book I ordered it, and was pleasantly surprised! This is a fantastic book. Judy Blume keeps the characters seeming real, and you end up caring about them. I have to say that I ended up disliking Caitlin because of how she seemed to be - if there had been some parts of it from her perspective, maybe we would understand her better. Nonetheless, I definitely recommend this book. Vix is a great character, and you keep hoping her life will bring her to happiness. If you like Judy Blume ... buy this book.

Summary: Judy Blume's best work
Review: This book can be related to any girl who has ever had a best friend. Judy Blume explores every aspect of friendships: what keeps them together, and what can pull them apart. She tests your every emotion by making you feel you are actually on the Vineyard watching Caitlyn and Vix live their lives. My best friend of countless years recommended me this book and she was the perfect person to do so. The reading is light but very thought provoking. Read this book!

Summary: what a novel!
Review: Summer sisters is one of the best books i have read for a long time. I am a teenager and I can definetly relate to the main characters Vix and Caitlin. This book is so rich in the content. Sometimes it got painful to read, espacially during the end, but I couldn't put it down. Judy Blume cathces teenage angst perfectly, and also as the characters become adults, and go into the real world, Blume, shows that once you stop being a teenager your problems don't stop there. This a must read for anyone.
