Summary: Entertaining Summer Fluff
Review: ...It took me about 5 hours to read this book, it is definitelynot challenging, but the main characters are engaging. I think one ofthe greatest appeals of this novel, for me, was the fact that it took place in the years of my own childhood, with characters that were just a few months older than I.

If you are looking for an entertaining but simple read for your vacation, this is the book to get.

Summary: Couldn't put it down!
Review: I was a big fan of Judy Blume as a child, and was a little nervous about reading this adult novel. I was not disappointed at all. This is truly one of the best books I have ever read. Blume's writing forces the reader to become so emotionally involved -- I found myself angry, upset, and sad to the point of hysterics sometimes. When I finished this book, I wept, partly I think, because I was so sad it was over. Her characters were so real and her writing is exquisite. I would recommend this to everyone!

Summary: A Must Read!
Review: I don't think I have ever read a 400 page book in less than 6.5 hours. This one, I did. I actually do not have time to read many novels. A co-worker of mine suggested I read this book, so I did. I could not put it down. I read it by the pool and did not even realize it was 6.5 hours until the sun went down and I was redder than an overcooked lobster! I don't understand why the other review said "Summer Yuck" because this book is definately deserving of a reading.

Summary: Best Book Ever!
Review: I just finished reading this book today. I started it this morning and I could not put it down for a second. It was so true to life and I'm sure everyone can find a piece of themselves in one of the characters.

Summary: Summer Garbage,Yuck!
Review: I could have written this worthless, horrible, book. None of the characters were endearing in any way. The story was your usual rich girl, poor girl, dysfunctional family fiasco.I have been reading Judy Blume since I was a little girl and she has grown up into adult novels. This book, however, was her absolute worst. Please try harder next time, Judy!

Summary: Ah, sister...
Review: Great book. Judy Blume's earthy language in some parts surprised and captivated -- and completely captured the essence of friendship between two young girls. Ah, sister ... my summer sister of so long ago ... where are you now? Has life been kind to you? This book brought back so many memories and a yearning for the friend of my youth. It transcends generations -- and in fact, was loaned to me by my daughter!

Summary: Summer Sisters
Review: I haven't read a Judy Blume book since I was in grade school. My summer friend, Laura and I always traded books, and Judy Blume's were always our favorites. This book was no exception to that! I couldn't put it down, and longed again to be a girl with my summer sister! It's a great summer read!

Summary: A GREAT BOOK!
Review: I really loved this book! From the moment I started it, I didn't want to put it down, and hated to come to the end. It is a beautiful and touching story about the relationship between two best friends and the paths that their individual lives take. It is such a real story that I laughed and cried, and really felt what the characters were going through. The book had a lasting impression on me and I continued to think about it for days after I had finished it.

Summary: Summer Sisters is nostalgic for girls of all ages
Review: Judy Blume is one of the best story tellers of all time. "Summer Sisters", the story of an unlikely friendship developing between 2 very different people, is incredibly well told and can make the reader laugh and cry at the same time. Judy Blume effectively uses plot twists and foreshadowing to totally envelope the reader. The first time I read this, last summer, I read it in 3 hours while in my motel at the Jersey shore; I simply could not put it down. The friendship between Caitlin and Vix reminded me so much of my friendship with a girl named Jaclyn - I am just like Vix and Jaclyn was just like Caitlin. It brought back some of my very best memories, entertained me, and I got completely wrapped up in the characters as if they were people I knew. The book is one of the rare few that I can read to the very last page and then start over again right away. I definitely recommend "Summer Sisters" for anyone who has ever had a best friend.

Summary: Summer Sisters by Judy Blume
Review: Just when I thought I had grown out of Judy Blume books, I was delighted to come across 'Summer Sisters'! This book moved me like no other. I could not believe how much this book brought back memories of my own childhood, and how I cried when I was done reading it because I wanted it to go on forever! There wasn't a day after that day for a long time, when I didn't think about how this novel had affected me. Super job, Judy! Keep up the good work!
