Summary: The Best book i have ever read-absolutly loved it!
Review: Summer Sisters was the most amazing book i ever read. I am a very slow reader and i read it on a trip and finished it with in 5 hours. Blume makes the charcters so real you think you are actully living on the island. The book made me laugh, cry, and defintally always wanting to know what is going to happen next.

Caitlin and Vix are best friends. Caitlin invits Vix to spend a summer with her in Marthas Vinard with there family. There caitlin is opened up to the whole world of caitlin. The share everything togther from sexuality to secerets. Their bond is something that you think can not be broken by anything until caitlin does something to hurt vix, something that she will never forget. This starts the beginng of the end. Through all the struggles of friendship both of their love for eachother never leaves and it will always last forever. This book has many life learing lessons that i will never forget. This is defintally the best book ever written. I read it twice in the last 6 months. Defintally read it or you are missing a lot!

Summary: My ALL-TIME favortie book!!!!!
Review: I read this book over the summer. My sister begged and begged me to read it! I personally hate reading (being that i'm only 16)! I finally said ok and to hand the book over just so she'd get off my back! Well it turns out that i could not put the thing down!! I finished it in to days flat. It really touched me and even made me cry at the end!! I think Judy Blume did a great job and I recommend this book to anyone!! I got all my friends to read it and that was all we talked about for a week! Hey talking about it makes me wanna go read it again!

Summary: Wasted Time Reading About Wasted Lives
Review: I hate when I read a book that left me with nothing and I ask, "Why did I bother reading this?" This book is about two girls who escape their real lives. One escapes a so-so family life for an "adopted" family and one escapes her more stable family to waste herself in hot pursuit of excitement and men. No one seems to deal with what they have been dealt with in life, but look for substitutes. It is written from an immature teen perspective and no one seems to actually grow up even though they age in years. The sex began with the two young girls doing it with each other and then basically doing it with anyone else as they grew older. There were also too many characters to keep up with and I grew tired of trying to remember why someone was important to the story. I am disgusted that I let these characters occupy a part of my life.

Summary: A Perfect Summer Read
Review: I read Summer Sisters while on vacation this summer, and I could not put it down. Of course, I had remembered Judy Blume from my days in middle school, but this book provided me with the same thrill I received all those years ago... It made me feel like a teenager again. I felt myself growing up and maturing with the two main characters, Cait and Vix. I wanted to be on Martha's Vineyard with them instead of a cabin in the mountains where I read this book. Buy this book now, but wait until the summer to read it, or during the dead of winter when getting cabin fever! Although not incredibly complex, the characters grew throughout the story, and it definitely should be passed on to others, I know my own copy has traveled to several friends, just like Blume's books did in 7th grade! Read this book and you will feel rejuvenated!

Summary: Fluffy Good Read
Review: If you're looking for some light reading which will keep you interested, you've found it with this novel. I enjoyed this book as it takes you back to your childhood/adolescence and lets you experience all the growing pains that go with it all over again (at a time in your life when friends, love interests are the centre of your world). Although I enjoyed this book, I am usually looking for a little more character development in order to truly appreciate and be immersed in the story/lives of the characters. This book did not do that. It may be that the author never intended to go in that direction. Anyway, as I said, if you're looking for light reading, (with losts of sex!)and a fast moving story, this novel will keep your interest!

Summary: You will get lost in this story.
Review: Judy Blume knows how to write what readers want to read. I adored this book and, even as a busy mom, was able to finish it in one week. Now that I'm done I miss the characters.

This book is not for younger children. Even though it starts out when the characters are young, it is an adult story.

Summary: AMAZING!!!!
Review: This was one of the best books I've read in a looong time! Blume's characters are real - making you care for each one. The story brings you back to when you were 12 remembering how amazing and carefree those summers were! Grab the book - and get ready for some great reading.

Summary: A page turning book
Review: This book was absolutely amazing. I could not put it down and stayed up at night to finish the book. This book brought back many memories of my childhood. Every girl/woman can relate to this book!! The book details two best friends who grew together from elementary school to being adults with their own children. One of the girls is very wealthy while the other girl is poor. The book will keep you thinking of how you grew up with your best friend and the problems you too went through. I highly recommend reading the book and then passing it on to those friends you care greatly about.

Summary: shallow fun- a quick fix
Review: I can't believe how many people have used the word "depth" in their reviews. You can't get much farther from depth than this book. The juicy scenes, for those who like them, are what makes this book at least somewhat readable and fun. Other than that, it is unrealistic and the story line seems to have sprung straight from "Days of our Lives", or worse. And please- it just reconfirms the "weak, overly obsessed with personal matters" type of female stereotype, that most of us have tried to escape from. If any man should be dumb enough to read this book- please remember, some of us are sane.

Summary: EXCELLENT Summer read... or anytime for that matter!
Review: When I was younger my older sister and I would race through our favorite Judy Blume books, from the whole "Fudge" series with the goofy Fudge, brother Peter, and obnoxious neighbor girl. So when I came across a more adult (best way to put it!) book written by Judy Blume, I got curious.

This book is excellent in the way Blume begins with the innocence of two young girls, friends by accident, and how they slowly grow up through their summers in Martha's Vineyard. You will never forget these characters, from the "older boys" they chase for summers on end, and when they catch them don't know what to do with them, or the strange Sharky... marvelous characters to keep you entertained. Enjoy, and happy reading!
