Summary: MY ALL TIME FAVE
Review: This book was SWEET! It had all the great elements that belong in a classic: romance, action, drama, conflict. It's my favorite. It enlightened me about the civil war and was GOOD at the same time!

Summary: My favorite book
Review: Ever since I could talk, my parents have encouraged me to read. Now I am in 9th grade, and I have read a ton of books. People always tease me about it. But I have to say that The Last Silk Dress is my favorite. I love it. The characters are completely realistic, and Susan feels all he emotions that every other teenage girl seems to. Her brother Lucien is also an interseting character, and they share a great relationship. I love all of Ann Rinaldi's books, especially Time Enough for Drums, and Aquaintance With Darkness. But The Last Silk Dress is by far the best. Now all she needs to do is write a sequel.

Summary: A good book is when you are a member of the characters
Review: I consider a good book good when you feel you're part of it... when I read it, I felt so part of the book that at some scenes I felt my cheeks go red because I was seeing a scene that is only for two and I because I felt like a character, it felt like I was intruding. I have read several of Ann Rinaldi's books, but unfortunatly because I live in Hong Kong, it is rather impossible to buy any, so every time I go on holiday to Canada or the States I buy all that I set my eyes on. If anyone out here know where you can write to Ann Rinaldi, can you please e-mail me, I have wanted to write to her for a long time.

Summary: The characters in this book are so strong, they seem real!
Review: This is one of my all time favorite books. I just read it for the 2nd time yesterday and it is still as fresh in my memory as if I had lived it. This book is long, but worth every minute of reading that you invest in it.

Summary: A modern classic and a book worth reading.
Review: This is a book that I have read in the umpteenth number of times yet never tire of. 14-year-old Susan is trying to find herself in the midst of the chaos of living in the capital of the Confederacy during the Civil War. In 1861, she thinks she knows herself and her family, but during the next few years uncovers some disturbing secerets about her life. Although she has always seen herself as a staunch Confederate, she knows that during the seige of Richmond she is a Yankee at heart. Susan does what she can to try to remedy her judgements, but the results are disatsrous.

Summary: Wow! This is a book I'll always remember
Review: This is a book I'll always remeber. Ann Rinaldi did an excellent job of writing this book. I'm in the 7th grade right now, but I'll know I'll enjoy this book for a long time yet. The main character is a girl called Susan with an abusive mother and strong willed. Her brother is the type of brother I'd want. He's awesome, cool, and has tons of secrets that he doesn't want to share. Susan learns many secrets and matures. There's no way I could write a good review on this book, it's just too good!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A GREAT BOOK!
