Summary: Amazing
Review: This is an awsome book. I picked it up and I read the whole thing and I don't regret staying up late to finish it.

Jarrod Thorton walks into Kate Warren's chemistry class and she is drawn to him. The longing she feels is intensified when he starts a freak storm INSIDE the classroom. Injuring himself Kate is supposed to take him to the infermary, but instead to her aunt, a healer and powerful witch when it comes to Old Magic. This encounter freaks him out and he like everyone else scorns Kate. He is very clumsy and a very big coward on top of everything else.

Everytime Jarrod's emotions go haywire something bad happens. Only he doesn't elive he's doing it. She tries to convince him of a curse in his family. However nothing works. Nothing that is until something goes horribly wrong and agrees to go back in time with Kate to stop it.

Jarrod and Kate are thrown into medevil times. It turns out Jarrod's ancestors are not the most liked people. While Kate is having the time of herlife Jarrod just wants to get it over with and return home.

Too bad when they find the creator of the curse things go horribly wrong. Will Jarrod and Kate g bak to their time all in one piece?

Hope you like the book as much as I did and I hop I didnt ruin anything.

Summary: Timeless
Review: I purchased "Old Magic" with a very, 'whatever' attitude. I thought it looked like some horrible romance novel but the summary on the back made me rethink putting it back on the shelve. I was going to Europe with my school and was warned of many long bus rides, I stoked up on the books. When I was on a bus ride to Paris I cracked it open and I found it engrossing! I couldn't put the book down! I loved it, it was a timeless story of two people, finding themselves and each other in wonderful settings and events. I passed it around to my friends and every one of them that has read it has become obsessed with Marianne Curley! If you liked this book, I strongly recommend "The Named". Old Magic is worth your time and money. I think that I've read it, like, six times now!

Summary: Perfectly spellbinding
Review: The only thing I didn't like about this book as the way Jarrod treated Kate in public around the "elite" group. It frustrated me so much because I know what that feels like. All in all this is a great book with a great ending... very magical.

Summary: One of the best books I have ever read!
Review: You've probably all been asked this stupid question a million times. "If you were on a desert island, and you could only bring one book with you, which one would it be?" First of all, if I was on a desert island, I would be more worried about food and shelter than literature. But anyway, my pick would probably be this book. Now don't get me wrong, I don't think that this is the best book ever written. It would just be the book I would choose. Why? It's because of many different reasons. First, the book has a great plot with, not always likeable, but "real" characters. I'll admit that Jarrod can be slightly annoying with his disbelief, but at the same time, it wouldn't seem realistic if he believed in magic right away. Second, the book is an easy read. If I was stuck reading one book over and over again, I probably wouldn't want to read something too complicated. Third, you can read it over again and enjoy it as much as the first time. Fourth, it has some of my favorite ingredients in books: adventure, suspence, suspicion, gripping plot, a little romance, and, of course, magic. Fifth, this book has the quality of being both in the past and the present. I love history, and I realy like the fact that, in the book, characters from the present get to experience it. And finally, sixth, I just like it. I know that this is only an opinion, but I know that I'm not the only one. I made my best friend read it, and she liked it as much as I did. Well, if I ever get stuck on a desert island, I hope I have food, shelter, and this book.

Summary: Excellent Book
Review: this book is a quality tale by an Australian author and i feel it is a great book because of the change from the generic magical/fantasy that you usually find in the shops. i highly recommend it to everyone.

Summary: Very Entertaining
Review: Kate is a witch. Although she doesn't dress in black or fly around on a broomstick, she still has magic powers. She can sense people's deepest emotions, and perform other tricks. But other than that, she is almost perfectly normal. She lives in the rainforest with her grandmother, who raised her ever since her mother ran off. Her grandmother, Jillian, is the one who really trained her to use her powers.

When the new boy in school, Jarrod, conjures up a freak storm inside their science lab, Kate knows she has to get to know him. But when she questions him about it, he has no idea what she's talking about. Even though Jarrod considers her crazy, Kate still insists that he has magical powers. And when a series of accidents in his family occurs, she also becomes convinced that his family is cursed. The only problem though, is convincing Jarrod of the fact.

But after two near-death incidents in his family, Jarrod comes to Kate for help. And so they embark on a thrilling adventure in a far away place, and a far away time.

I just checked this out of the library along with 7 other books and this is by far the best. Although the magic part gets a little corny sometimes, I still loved the adventure and the sparking romance between Kate and Jarrod. Although I didn't think that Jarrod would have really disbelieved Kate about his powers, since he was consciously using them, it is still an entertaining story. If you are older than eleven, and love to read, you will most likely find this book enjoyable. Try to get it from your library if you can, but I would almost consider it to be worth buying. Just as long as you read it.

I rated this book *****

Summary: Good Book!
Review: Sometimes I just wanted to pop Jarrod upside the head. Why are people in these books always so thick headed.

This book was well written for some one writing for their first time. Although I don't normally go for the first person pov, this was a different story. It kept me hooked and guessing until the end.

Summary: An exellent book!!!
Review: I usually only reak books that are fantasy-oriented, and I was so tired of the same old thing, but then I found Old Magic, and I thought it was amazing! I just wish that there was a sequel to the book. I loved the sparks that flew between Kate and Jarrod, and the transition from Jarrod being very narrow-minded, weak and shallow to being very understanding and strong was a good one. I WOULD RECOMEND THIS BOOK TO ANY FANTASY-LOVER. IT WAS FANTASTIC!!!
