Summary: MW - Phila
Review: The book I read is called Invitation to the Game. My class thinks the book is corny and so do I. The person who made the book needs to think more about the book. The characters need more talent, action, and they need to be fun. No one understands the book. I think the book should have more action, and violence, or something the book is whacked. I'd suggest the following changes:
If Benta had been stuck on the planet, then that would be a good book. Ants could attack her and eat her hand. Then a big fish could eat her head. Then she'd be a walking body without a head. Now, that would be funny.

Summary: Great Book!
Review: The idea of a bunch of unemployed people going into a game seems like the worst idea ever. When I first got this book, I read the back and immediatly thought I would hate it. However, I decided to read it and could hardly put the book down. The book had some sort of twist or turn everywhere you read that kept you reading the book. The characters are truly amazing and keep you reading the book. Monica Hues certainly made a great story for the bad idea she came up with. However, the end cuts off short and you dont get to hear about a lot of what you wanted to hear. If they make a sequal to this book, I will definantly read it.

Summary: It was exciting and different.
Review: This book has a strong beginning. It keeps your full attention. It keeps your attention because there is non-stop action during the whole book. The setting is a lot different from present-day life. I enjoyed this book and advise others to read it. I look forward to reading another Monica Hughes book.

Summary: Freaky, but good
Review: This book is a 1st person book, which I appreciate. It is really nice at the beginning, when 8 kids that joined the ranks of the unemployed decide to live together in a former warehouse. They scrounge for materials and make their living quarters pretty nice and cozy. They decide to try to meet some friends and see if there are any other people like them out there, so they go out at night. They get in trouble twice, and blow a lot of money, too. They build electric security systems and all sorts of cool things to keep them safe. However, with nothing but an old-fashioned book library, they soon get bored. Then, they get invited to The Game. They go into a room and lay down on couches and are transported somewhere else, only to be brought back when one of them is in a life-threatening situation. Then, one day, they find themselves somewhere else, and the story's freakiness level goes way up! It was a good book, but very freaky.

Summary: I love this book!
Review: This book is amazing. It's soo full of suprise twists and turns in the story that the synopsis would ruin it! The author paints the characters so well that you feel like you've gotten tot know them personally by the end of the book. My fave character was Trevor, I dunno why. (read the book and you'll see why this is slightly funny.) it's also a scary picture of Earth; what it might become when leaders are too power-hungry.

Summary: Sci-Fi and Survival all wrapped into one book
Review: This book is an awesome survival story, it really makes you think about what you would do if you had to survive in the wilderness. If you like this book I highly recommend Transall Saga for another Sci-Fi Survival Book.

Summary: The most thought provoking book of the century
Review: This book is most definitely the best book I have ever read. Her descriptions of the mindless thought police have stimulated thought in my mind about the direction that human race is taking. The cruelty with which the government solves the overpopulation problem shows the true desperation of mankind to keep their world from coming to pieces around them.

I did a grade 6 book report on this book and found that even though I am a boy I can still identify with the main charachter as she and her friends finally realize the purpose of "the game".

I reccomend this book if you like a thought provoking, mentally stimulating adventure that embodies the true spirit of a writer.

Summary: Ranks with the BEST science fiction novels out there.
Review: This book is one of my favorite science-fiction/fantasy novels ever. It rates up there with "The Golden Compass", "Sphere", "Tom Clancy's Net Force", "Scorpion Shards", and "The Blue Sword". I have read this book about 3 times and after writing this review I have the urge to dig it out of the box in my closet and read it again.
