Summary: It was good
Review: I thought this book was good. It gives us a good view on what the future might be like. It was very interesting to read about how Lisse and her friends coped with everything and with The Game. I really liked the part about the game. You could just picture it and see it in your mind. It is mysterious how they get stuck in the game and where thy are and how they fot there and why is the government and lifestyle so weird. It is just a good book, but just a bit confusing.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Book is extremely unrealistic.
Review: I would have given this book 4 and a half stars if the content was more believable. Most of the time, Lisse and the other nine people who made up her close-knit group of friends were acting way too maturely for their age catergory. For example, when they ended up on Prize (their final resting place), they built a loom! How many people who are 16 can build a loom? And what about when they wanted to build a log cabin? How the hell did they learn how to build a log cabin? It's not exactly common knowledge.

All of the above are reasons why I give this book only 2 stars.

Summary: A Chilling Look at the Future
Review: Invitation to the Game is the tale of a time in which you must be a genius to get a job- to be mearly above average doesn't cut it. When a group of bright, yet "unemployable" teenagers are given a chance to play the Game, they go for it. They are surprised at it's content but quickly fall in love with this new world and use it as a means to escape their own borring lives. It's fascinating. And you're never COMPLETELY sure if the ending is in reality or part of the Game... the next level perhaps? I recomend it for a light, techno-interesting read.

Summary: Invitation to the Game
Review: Invitation to the Game was a great book, it kept me interested and it didn't make me bored. The author discribed the characters, the scene, the mood, everything very well. I didn't want to put it down, even though at times it could be kinda confusing by not telling you who was talking and bringing up points from earlier on in the book. The book is about a group of people who just graduated from Government School and are starting out a new life on their own, trying to get jobs. The problem is that the book is based in 2154 and so on, when most of the jobs are taken by robots. The friends discover something called The Game and spend almost all of their time trying to figure out what The Game is and how to get to it, what to do when they get there, and what the point of the whole thing is. They go through many problems but stick together to work through it. The book is very good and I would recommend it to anyone.

Summary: Invitation to the Game is a wonderful book!
Review: Invitation to the Game was a great book. The characters had very realistic emotions. It was also a reminder that if the Earth keeps being used the same way than people will eventually die out. Many of Monica Hughes' books have a similar plot; something terrible happens to the Earth that makes it hard for people to keep living here. Each of her books is so unique that you are definatly sure it is a different story.I would recomend all of her books, this one absolutly included!

Summary: Tired of alien invasions? Read this book!
Review: It is the year 2154. Robots have taken over all the work. Now many new graduates are without work and are being sent to a Designated Area (DA) in a city to spend the rest of their life doing nothing, only barely living off the government for the bare necessities: food and shelter. Lisse and seven friends are in this predicament, and suffering from boredom. Then they hear about a 'game' for the unemployed. Some say it is like a treasure hunt , with a treasure if you win. Then suddenly a mysterious envelope appears in their warehouse home: it is an invitation to The Game. They soon discover that The Game is a magical world, untouche by humans or robots. It is new and unused: everyone's dream come true. The only problem is, no one really knows what The Game is. Is it just a scheme to control the unemployed? Or is it deeper than that?

Summary: MY FAVORITE BOOK OF ALL TIME
Review: Oh my god! I don't think I can write enough about how great this book is! I was first introduced to it in the 4th grade, when a teacher recommended it as a good read. I fell in love with Monica Hughes due to this one book! It has got to be my all time favorite book, and I've read many many various book from various genres and authors!

Summary: Great book!!!
Review: Ok, the book was wonderful!! At some parts it was a little unbelievable (the loom and all) but then, you just have to account that they were in the future and were taught by robots for ten years. They also only got to spend 6 years with their parents so they couldn't become very dependent on them. So it was an awesome, fairly realistic, fairly believable, fab book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
