Summary: This was a good book
Review: "A Mother's Gift" was a really good book, a riveting read. I bought it over the net, hoping it would be a good book and I was right! Britney and her mum wrote a really awesome story, and I like Britney even more now, then I did before.
It's better then the "Heart to Heart" one, which I also have. This one is a fiction story, mostly based on Britney's life, but the characters have different names.
I won't give too much away, read it for yourself and you'll see it's a lovely book, well written and interesting!

Summary: Um...no
Review: I didn't really think that I would enjoy this book but I went ahead and read it just to "see" if Britney had any writing talent. I do have to admit that Britney and her mom did a nice job with details and sentence structure but the plot was HORRIBLE! I know that it's a good idea write what you know and I'm sure Britney knows about or has experienced some of these kinds of things, but it was WAY too cutsie pie to be enjoyed or taken seriously. Maybe a 9-year-old can appreciate this story line but I think it will be hard for anyone else to take pleasure in reading this book. It was...OK, and I think I'm being nice. Good try, Brit, better luck next time.

Summary: A Must-Read For Anyone, Britney Fan or Not
Review: I'm am a huge Britney fan! Yes, I bought the book because of that. Yet, it turned out to be a lot deeper than I expected. The plot line concerns a girl named Holly Lovell and her mother, Wanda Jo. Holly loves to sing, and she is great at it! Her and her mother have a very tight bond together. A bond that begins to crumble when Holly gets accepted into a very rich, and very nice music school, Harverty. As soon as she arrives, she feels embarrassed by her humble beginnings and her homeade clothes, compared to the other rich girls'. But, her room-mate, Ditz, is fascinated by her small town and loving mother, as opossed to her parents that buy her everything just to get her out of the way, and never have any time for her. At the end of the book, Holly's mom tells Holly a very crushing secret that could destroy their relationship forever.......Read it, you'll love it.

Summary: not great, but there were a few good points
Review: Ok, Britney Spears is definitely a VERY talented singer, there's no denying that. Everyone has seen the tremendous work that she has displayed as a music artist. But writing is a completely different story, and it's not where Britney's talent lies. Okay, I know that didn't sound too nice--I'm trying to say this as nicely as possible, but I didn't know how else to say it. Someone else who wrote a review on here stated that although Britney is a great singer, she is just too young to really and truly grasp these deep topics that she tried to write about in "A Mother's Gift." You can't just make up your mind that you want to write a really moving piece of literature with deep human emotions before you've actually experienced them. That requires time, and many young people--not just Britney--need to take the time to learn that. Now, I don't think that this book was completely and totally HORRIBLE. Britney and her mother devised a plot, invented characters, and got a story going. The book is about a young girl who dreams of becoming a singer, which is obviously being played off Britney's life. This is a sign that Britney took what she knew and turned it into a book. It's so important as a writer to write what you know instead of trying to write about stuff that you have no clue on. For that reason, I give Britney credit. She did try to reach out to her fans in a new and special way by writing this book. But it's not the best book ever written, and I'm sure Britney didn't expect it to be like that, anyway. I'm sure all Britney fans will take pleasure in reading this, but the biggest reason many people are probably picking this one up at the bookstore is because Britney wrote it, and not really for any other reason.

Summary: A Mother's gift really touched my soul.
Review: I enjoyed reading this book because it made me realize how much a parent, or parents, can do for a child. It is a touching story about 14 year old Holly Faye Lovell, who loves to sing, and her mother Wanda. They have an unbreakable bond until Holly Faye recieves a scholarship to go to a very very expensive school for music, Haverty. She meets new people that she envies a little bit at first but then realizes that they actually envy her because they dont have such a caring mom that she does. Holly Faye is quite embarrassed by her mother because of a huge scar that she has..but little does she know that Wanda got that scar while doing something VERY VERY important for Holly. Throughout the story, Wanda is hiding a secret from Holly..and finally, she tells her. This is a very very well written story about love, family, and friends. At the end of the story..I realized how much I loved this book..and considered it one of my all time favorite books. I recommend this to anyone who would like to read about family and love.
