Summary: This was an AWESOME book!
Review: I thought the book A Mother's Gift was the most inspiring story I've ever read. I too plan on someday being famous, and want to be a big star. Britney and Lynne did an awesome job at writing their first book, and I hope to see more of their books published in the future. Britney, and her momma, inspire me so much, and I hope to see them soon! Keep up the good work gurls!

Summary: hmm.....
Review: It's a simple, simple story: a young girl with a big dream who excels at a prestigious music school and eventually makes it to the top. I guess it is a motivational story, but it is extremely simple and very cliche. This is the type of "rags to riches," "achieving your dreams" story that pretty much everybody has seen; it is a very old formula.

The intentions here seemed good, but I think Britney was just trying to reach her fans in a new way. You can't just decide you want to write a book and then throw it together; it takes time. I myself hope to be a writer someday, and I am willing to bet a million dollars that if I had written this exact same manuscript and sent it in with my name on it, there's no way it would be published. No way. We all know why this book is on the shelves, and yes, it seems unfair, but I guess it's the way it is.

I typically am not quick to judge books and films like this; I usually try my best to find something good about it. This is actually very interesting because I thought Britney's debut movie "Crossroads" was great, but it got a LOT of negative criticism. I thought this book was terrible, but it seems to have gotten some pretty good reviews. Hmm....

I won't tell you not to buy this book, but I could probably save you about 5 bucks by giving you the whole story right here in one sentence: Little girl has a big dream, she goes for it, it affects her relationship with her mother, she rises to success in a matter of 100 pages or so. That's pretty much all it is. You could spend the money on the book and read it for yourself, but you probably won't find much more. I'm not trying to bash Britney; I really do like her music and I was very inspired by her movie. But this book is merely an attempt at motivational material, and if that's the kind of thing you're looking for, there are hundreds of other alternatives.

Summary: Omg Take It AWAY!
Review: First of all I am not a Britney fan, not even close. But even if she doesn't have talent in singing maybe she will in writing. Umm, no. This book was so...simple! I mean, ugh. Completely a sugarcoated book that a 5 year old could read. Nothing stimulating here. But hey, what was I expecting? This is Britney we're talking about.

Summary: Read this book... You'll learn some valuable lessons for lyf
Review: A Mother's Gift is a story about a mother and daughter relationship. Which is very similar of the authors relationship, and story of their life. In other words, it is the story on how Britney and Lynne Spears life changed when Britney was beginning to live her dreams. The story uses different characters and settings. The book talks about how the Lovell family is very poor but Holly, the daughter of Wanda Lovell, loves to sing and is very good at it. One day her mother sent the Haverty School, a school where all of the rich and famous come from, a tape that had a performance of Holly's singing talent. Sure enough they got a call that they would love to see her perform live, to see if she is eligible for a scholarship. After a few weeks of stress and hoping, she was offered a scholarship to Haverty, and she took it. The close relationship the mother and daughter had, is being threatened since Holly is going away to school. Wanda needs to tell her daughter something very important before she leaves, but she never had the chance. So now Wanda has an important secret that she needs to tell Holly as soon as possible.
A Mother's Gift is one of the best books I have ever read. I am not a big reader, but this book actually kept my interest, and I enjoyed reading it. Probably, because the mood of the book was very happy and uplifting. The book showed you that you can always have a loving relationship, even if it is with your mom, dad, friends, or anyone else. When you have a loving relationship, like they show you in the book, then you would have the perfect life. Even if you don't live in the biggest house, have the nicest cars, or a lot of money. The story explains that if you live a happy and spiritual life, anything that you love, dream and want, can come true. As long as you live your life right. When I read this book, it made me want to live my life to the fullest, so I can start making my dreams come true. I would defiantly say that this book is a very inspiring book.

Summary: Whatever Rocks Your Boats.......I Guess.
Review: I did not give this book 2 stars because Britney Spears wrote it and yes I did read it. I don't care if she wrote it.
A Mother's Gift..is simple. Very simple...the plot will sum it all up. A girl has big dreams...and eventually (surpassing alllll my doubts) achives them and lives happily ever after. Thats it. You were expecting more eh? I was.
There's nothing ~inspiring~ here. Reading this book will not help you appear ~pretentious~ to others, I assure you. This could easily be a great start-up book for a small child's introduction too books but nobody else! When Britney and her mom wrote Heart to Heart. That was good. They were writing what they knew (it was Britney's bio) writing a novel is a whole different field. I don't think Britney Spears is in a position nor capable of writing anything unless it's about herself. Look..im 15 years old. I was reading books by William S. Burroughs and Allen Ginsberg when I was 12! Even though books by Burroughs,Ginsberg, and Spears are all in totally different catogories and I would never compare any to one another because that would be stupid. I think I know what a good book is. I hardely ever read books like this. I only purchased it because it was in the "bargin bin". I was broke, and it was either this or the the other "bargin" Heart To Heart.

Review: This book was the best...it's not your sugary-type pop you would expect from Britney or Lynn, but it's definetely one of the most touching stories i've ever read!

Summary: it's for younger kids
Review: I think this is a very appropriate story for little girls who can appreciate and be inspired by the success that Holly Faye Lovell (the main character in this book) sees in this story about dreams and ambitions. Those kids will most likely enjoy it, but I think that anyone else who reads it would be too critical because no, this book is not the best one ever written. I will admit that this book is VERY cliche, but as far as motivation goes, I think it is a very good choice for girls around 9 years old or so. This is the kind of story they can learn from. Kids need that inspiration in their lives--this book is an easy read, it cuts to the chase, and it doesn't beat around the bush with big words and wordy sentences. And in many cases, that's what makes a book good; that's what makes a young person want to read it. For that reason, I give Britney Spears credit because this book does have a story to tell and a worthwhile purpose. My advice to older people who read the book is this: don't focus on the literary value so much as the message itself; otherwise, you may find yourself looking for every single thing that can possibly be wrong with the story. I don't think Britney did anything terribly wrong by choosing a common plot that everyone knows of. It's cliche, but it's fine. Look for the message. It's there.
