It is a little hard to follow in the begginging though. I have OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) so I can really connect to this book and understand it, but I don't think someone without OCD would like it as much or be able to understand it. Even though I knew I had OCD, I didn't know as much about how else it effects you besides.. obsessions obviously. Like the worrying and things repeating in your head. it is very informative.Although it looks like the girl in the book has a severe case of OCD, so it is a bit more interesting.

I could relate to everything that Tara did, said, felt or thought. I was thinking, "This girl is just like me! She has the same problems that are 'strange' and 'weird' and doesn't know why she has stupid thoughts!" Well, it turned out Tara was not crazy, she just had OCD. (Obsessive-Compulsive-Disorder.) Little did I know, that 3 years later, I was about to find out why my life seemed so much like hers. I came into the doctor's office in 10th grade, 3 years after reading a book which made me almost sure I had OCD too. I initially went to see my doctor about sleeping problems, and came out diagnosed with OCD. "This explains everything!" I told my mom later. All my weird obsessions and rituals are all explained-and I'm not the only one in the world who has it either!" The solution to my problem was solved. I felt so much better, and I loved to see how there are other people out there with this mental disability such as myself. It was humorous, helpful, and thought provoking all in one. I highly recommend this book to anyone who thinks that they might be a little "weird!" :)

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The Best Book Review: This is my favorite book because its depressing at times and it had a good ending. Most books I read have really bad ending but this one had a soft, caring ending. I'm also going to read this book again because it was so good! If you like so so depressing books I recommend this book to you.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A View from the Inside (Review Written While Obsessing) Review: This is the best depiction I've ever seen of the symptoms of OCD, and I should know because I suffer from it myself. Like Tara's, my symptoms came on at age 11, but at that time no-one really knew much about the anxiety disorders so I pretty much just suffered along as the "crazy girl" until I went into remission at 14. Then a few years ago my OCD came back with a vengeance - but this book gave me the strength I needed to go out and pursue treatment at last. (Now if my HMO will only cooperate and actually provide some!)Anyway, enough of my life story. But please, please, read this book, especially if you recognize any of the symptoms in yourself or anyone you know. Don't think of this as "just a kids'/teen book" or even "just fiction" - the story may be made up, but the symptoms portrayed here are as real as anything, and OCD is (unfortunately) a disease which can affect all ages. The first step in combatting mental illness is to try to understand it, and more than any textbook or case study this book will give you some actual insight into the mind of an obsessive/compulsive.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: ****** Don't give up no matter how hard****** Review: I've have read this book:Kissing Doorknobs by Terry Spencer Hesser. When it comes to books I am a very picky person. I don't like books about the future nor the past. The only kind of books that interst me are realistic books. This book is defenitally a book that pulls you in.In my opinon no matter what books you are intersted in I recommend this book.Kissing Doorknobs is about a young girl her name is Tara and she struggles from Obsessive-compulsive Disorder and has no one to go to for help. Her family thinks she is a nut and her life seems to be controlled by this illness. The amazing thing in this book is the lesson she learns of life we all need to know. Some of the most important things in life are the hardest.Never give up because you won't be happy. I highily recommend Kissing Doorknobs.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great! Review: This book kept me interested all day, considering I read the entire thing in one day and Im not a big reader at all! Its about a girl named Tara telling about her adolecent life that was beginning to be controlled by Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. She was growing up with it and people just thought she was crazy, she saw numerous doctors, but only one finally diagnosed it as OCD. It really is a good read, I think I liked it so much because the topic of OCD interests me.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: AWESOME!!! Review: OMG!!!! this was the BEST book, i have EVER read! It was soooo good! I just read it, it took me 2 hours, and i didnt put it down once. This book was actually recommended by my reading teacher last year when i was in 8th grade, since i HAVE OCD. I could totally relate, i have a lot of the same quirks as Tara does, i felt like i was her, that's why i loved it so much. It was sooo sad i cried, and sooo funny i laughed out loud, there is no emotion that doesnt touch you when you read this book! I loved it sooo much, and felt mad at her mother for abusing her, i mean i cant help it either when i have those quirks. anyway i RECOMMEND this book 2 all teens, especially ones w/ocd like me, BUY IT!!!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Fabulous Book! Review: I read this book in 7th grade and I absolutley loved it. I had forgotten about it until just recently and I read it again (2 1/2 years later). Believe me, it was just as good the second time. If you don't know anyone with simalar psychological issues, the book really gives you a glimpse into the lives of people with OCD and if you do know people who have suffered from this illness it helps you to understand it even more. I love this book and would read it again in a second!
