Summary: one of my favorites 8 years later
Review: I accidently stumbled on this book when i was in the 6th grade and absolutley fell in love with it. I am 20 years old and i would still read it over and over. It is an amazing book with fun characters and a great plot. I definately recommend this book for any teenage girl who feels like their life is crazy and unpredictable. It is something any young girl can relate to. It makes being a girl that much more bearable.

Summary: Not Alice at her best
Review: I admit, I was dissapointed with this book. After reading some of Naylor's other Alice books, I found that this dulled in comparison. It is mildly humorous and interesting, but for some real laughs read Alice in Lace or Alice in April. However, if you are planning to read the Alice series, you should not skip this one. It is vital to read every Alice book to understand some of the later ones.

Summary: You NEED a boyfriend to enter junior high with!
Review: I don't know about others, but I thought Alice In Rapture wasn't as good as the first in the series. I've actually only read the first two, so my input might not be as good as those who have read more of Alice, but...

I absolutely loved the Agony of Alice. It was funny and moving, and Alice is such a special girl with a distinctively lovely voice. I could relate to her in so many ways and I'm amazed that Phyllis Reynolds Naylor remembers growing up so well. It's lovely that she has such a person as Alice inside her and brought it out so beautifully. I couldn't wait to rush to the library and find the next book!

Alice in Rapture was a bit disappointing because I don't think it had the same humour and personality of the first. I couldn't connect with Alice anymore because she's 11 and already has a boyfriend and worrying about french-kissing...And that's what the entire story focuses on. There was too much of kissing and too little of her first time babysitting, and although it's an important part of getting older, I think it could have been better.

Otherwise, it's still a worth a read, and I'm sure the other books in the series are much better. Alice is still as confused as ever and I think she makes a very wise decision at the end. It isn't boring (of course - Alice never is!) and very fun to read.

Summary: Alice in Rapture, Sort of
Review: I have read all but three of the Alice books in the series. This is definately the best of all the books I have read. Alice in Rapture, Sort of was the first book I had read from the series, and it is the best. If you can't decide which book to read first, I definately suggest this one. I hope you read these books and enjoy them.

Summary: One of my Favorite Alice Books!
Review: I love this Alice book! I've probaly read it about 3 times, it's so good. It's the summer of the first boyfriend, and that alone leads into all kinds of predicaments. But, it's a great book, so read it!

Summary: YOU HAVE GOT TO READ THIS BOOK!
Review: I loved this book! Alice is just like a regular kid. I think that children ages 10-13 would really relate to this book and Alice is the perfect person to tell kids this. I wouldn't recommend "real" dating when your 10-11 years old! That's a little too young, but I know that children would still enjoy this book and imagine what they would be like when they were in juinor high age level. It would give children a sense of imagination and creativity with fun in it! I think that even kids that do not normally read books for fun would even enjoy this one. The one thing that I don't like is about how much kissing it talks about! I don't think that it would be good for a 10-11 year old to go off kissing after they read this book, Alice is a pretty good role model but drop a little bit of the kissing down and it'll be perfect!

Summary: Really true to life!
Review: I loved this book!!!!! Lots of it was very true to life! I liked the line that said, "between grade school and junior high, something happens to your eyes. you cry a lot." That is so true. READ IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
