Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: A book about sex, not how babies are made Review: If you are looking for a book strictly about sex, this will fill the bill. It does not talk about conception. Topics covered include, nudity, being alone, private parts, etc. This book is not designed to be "fun" (my major complaint). The illustrations are simple line drawings and the layout is designed for a child who doesn't need pictures or a story to entertain or interest them.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Only book of its kind: yes, kids are sexual too. Review: Probably most parents will find this book to be "too much about sex" for their children - although nothing in the book is inappropriate. This is the only book I reviewed that mentioned nothing about pregnancy (there is a brief mention of fertilization). Instead, it's all about being familiar with your body (there are several drawing exercises, and a workbook is available to purchase separately), good kinds of touching, masturbation, and in general helping the child to decide for him or herself what "sexy" means. There's also some brief discussion about partnerships (heterosexual or homosexual). The drawings are simple lines, and there's very little clinical language. This is a great book for open-minded, sex-positive families to share.

Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: One of a Kind Review: The problem is--there should be more books that tackle this topic. It's all about simply enjoying one's body. Far too often, we ignore the very nature of a child and our own childhoods when touching ourselves was *pleasureable* ... I think if you have read "Harmful to Minors" and agree with its points, then this is the book to give your children to help them along the way. I hope that more writers find ways to express this very basic, but often silenced, truth about children and their development.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Honest, clear, understandable, a real book for real people. Review: This book is very clear and accurate. A Kids First Book addresses all of the issues surrounding sexuality in a way that is easily understood by Kids, (and some adults). I would like to see a b ook like this in the school system but I realize that is probably a way off in the future. I try to share my copies with my grandchildren and their friends by leaving it laying around for them to find. Its amazing how well used it has become. Thanks for an honest, clear book for all to understand. I recommend this book to every parent with small children.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Unparalleled. Review: This is a book about sex. That much should be quite obvious from the title, but some people think "sex" + "kids" = "manufacture of babies", which is wrong on its face. Furthermore, this is the only children's book I've seen that gives a reasonable explaination of what sexual behavior is and how it happens. If you're ready to deal with your young child's questions and this book now, you'll save yourself a lot of trouble with your preteen down the road.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Not for the uptight or inhibited Review: This is a WONDERFUL book if you care about raising children that understand their bodies and aren't afraid of sexuality. I buy it for all of my friends who have young children. It doesn't explain where babies come from, except to say that sex can lead to babies if you want it to. It celebrates the body; the entire body.

Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: an inappropriately permissive text for young ones Review: This is an "anything goes" book for youngsters. It asks kids if and how they self stimulate but has a strangely coy attitude to nudity.
