Summary: A boy who ovvercomes obstacles that make him stronger
Review: This book is intresting. He talk about the truth about inner life. He showed life from another person life. He did not have a nice home and he does not have a car. Not only was it a great story ,but he made it so easy to understand. He made a great statement that can make it even if you are in a bad city and not very rich.

Summary: book review
Review: This book was actually very good and entertaining. Eddie, a Mexican-American youth living in a poor, gang-infested Fresno, California, attempts to get away from the troubles of his city, and fill his life with better more positive things. Yet his goals of betterment fail when his cousin gets killed in a local club. A local gang member, as well as his aunt, harasses Eddie to get even with the killers of his cousin, but Eddie wants nothing to do with revenge. He try's to escape the "onion smelling town" he lives in by filling his time with commonsense jobs here and there. Though these jobs that Eddie partakes in can be successful without a college degree, they are not consistent nor are they of good pay. "..." The north side is where Eddie rides around on his bicycle searching for people who want spray-painted numbers on their sidewalk, or help in planting a tree or moving a refrigerator. However, these jobs don't pay well enough to get Eddie out of the "barrio filled with cholos" (town with gang members), so he strives for a solution; enrolling in the Navy.
This novel portrayed Eddie as a very optimistic youth, attempting to move out of the ghetto onto something productive for his life and future and succeeding in it. This book is easy to relate whether it's an adult or youth.

Summary: The review of Buried Onions
Review: This is a good book in my eyes for a few diffrent reasons, one major reason is because it displayed alot of violence throghout the whole book and for me to sit and read a book to myself and stay focused is a very big accommplishment so Mr. Soto did a good job about that, even the first page talked about deaths in family and friends. Another reason this book was intresting to me is because I could relate to the broken down projects that these characters lived in as well as not having healthy food to eat and the robberiers, gangs, and beatings that went on, at times I even had flash backs of past problems in my life. One other reason that I injoyed this book was because throughout all the bad things that happened to certain people in the book they kept a high head and was successful in making it out of the pain and drama and that gives me something to look forward to in my life. Yes I would very much so recommend this book to others specifically to those who have trobles in there life and are looking for brighter days you will find it in this book and can maybe use it in your everyday life.

Summary: Another Great Book....
Review: To my decent opinion, I thought that this was a great book for teens and even adults. This book taught me a lesson and how to react when something like it happened to me or someone that was around me. This book, Burried Onions by Gary Soto, was a book that probably told a lot of those teens my age a good lesson of life. The main character in this book is traped with all differnt kinds of people that are ready to kill anyone in their way. Eddie is in a tight situation that isnt as great as he wanted it. His friends and family members were killed in a violent incident and he has to face the meaning of killing the person who killed his cousin. This gets him all freaked out and he doesnt know what to do...
