Summary: A Long Time Fan's Opinion
Review: Jemina Emerson is a opinionated 15 year old during the Revolutionary War. She's a Patriot first and foremost. Her father hires a well known Tory to be her tutor and she is totally disgusted. She slacks in her studies and gets into heaps of trouble.

The Revolution comes to her doorstep when her brother leaves for war with his own milita. She's then stuck at home with her tutor and her parents. Her mother writes against the British for the town paper, which causes a lot of trouble for the family. Then she finds out something about her tutor which changes both of their lives and causes a closeness between them....

Time Enough for Drums captives the Revolutionary War and certain things behind the war. Ann Rinaldi knows how to create wonderful characters. I loved how the characters in this book were put together being strong-welled with certain characteristics.

I loved this book! I love how the plot was well put together and you didn't know what was going to happen next. Ann Rinaldi is a facinating history novelist, whoose books can capture your attention until you've finished with the book. I suggest any of her books.

Summary: Romance in Trenton in the Revolutionary War
Review: In this wonderful book, I learned about realistic fiction and I couldn't have loved it more. It was so inspirational that John Reed and Jemima fell in love after so many troubles together. The sad parts were so touching and the happy parts were so amazing and all together they fit perfectly. I would definitely recommend it.

Summary: Really great.....
Review: This book is the perfect example of a girl who suffers family problems, as well as living through the Revolutionary War who grows up enough to discover her feelings. Wonderful and not a boring moment in it.

Summary: BEST BOOK!
Review: I loved this book. It is about a girl named Jemima Emerson and her life during the Revolutionary War. I have read many of Ann Rinaldi's books and this is by far her BEST! It has many facts about the Revolutionary War tied in with just the right amount of romance and adventure to keep you interested. This is a MUST READ!

Summary: Truely Timeless
Review: From a 14 year old girl who doesn't even have time to have dinner with her family most days, finding time to read a book is even harder but not this one. I've red this book over 10 times and I still find it exhilirating. The exquisite developement of each character is in a word amazing. It is a timeless story that any teen can relate to. Troubles that still plague teens today are brought alive in this touching story of a Revolutionary heroine growing up. The whole Emerson family struggles through life and war to survive. And the love story contained in this book is fantasic. Jemima and John are perfect poster couple for an opposites attract campaign.

Summary: This is her best book
Review: Out of all the books I've read by her I'd have to say this is the best. This book has action, suspense adventure, and romance. This book is about a teenage girl named Jemima. It explains her life through the war and what she had to face losses in the family and how easy it was to grow up quickly during the war. The story is extremly good and is hard to put down. There is not to much to say about it without gving all the thrilling secrets of the story away. The book is something you should read to find out what it is about not the reviews that is why I'm notsayingmuch about the story it's self. If you read The Quilt Trilogy, and The Last Silk Dress you should definatly enjoy this book and if you haven't read them I highly recommend them.

Summary: Time Enough for Drums
Review: Time Enough For Drums by Ann Rinaldi is definitely one of my favorite books. Ms. Rinaldi builds strong believeable characters in Jemima Emerson and John Reid.
Jemima is a daughter of the Revolutionary War who is as feisty as she is stubborn. She often delights torturing her tutor whom she believes is a Tory. After a turn of events, he opinion of him changes and results in a very unsuspected ending.
I loved this book. The plot took so many wild turns, I was constantly left in suspense. When I had read the epilogue and closed the book, I wanted more.
The characters found their way into my heart, and I found myself feeling their emotions: anger, jelousy, love, grief, happiness and desparation.
The book itself was very well written, and deffinitely a must-read.

Summary: Kind of Depressing
Review: I kept reading this book; it's a book you have to keep reading until the end. It was kind of depressing though, because a lot of people died. It seemed like a soap opera because first Jem liked Raymond, then dated her teacher who was nine years older than her!!! I don't think I would recommend this book to anyone who doesn't like books where people die. They would be disappointed.

Summary: Read On
Review: I really liked the book. It was interesting and it kept me reading. I finished it as soon I started to read it. Some people who read the book with me thought that too many people died. It didn't bother me because that's how it was during that time period. I thought the book was a little misleading in the middle and then all of the sudden it made perfect sense. The ending could have been a little better with Jem having kids or when they moved into the new house. The ending left you hanging. I wish it would have told you more about her new life and how things had changed from before the Revolutionary War.

Summary: Growing up During the American Revolution
Review: Jem is an ambitious young girl living during the American Revolution. Her brothers are off fighting in the war. Jem is less proper than other young women her age, and she argues her ways a lot.
During the war, Jem has many things to overcome. Being tutored by a man named John Reid isn't something Jem likes, but in the end things change and Jem grows up and realizes many new facts, and new feelings.
I liked this book alot, it was very interesting, there was never a dull moment so I was always wanting to finish it. I definitely recommend and will read other books by this author in the future.
