Summary: An All-Time Great
Review: I first discovered "Time Enough For Drums" when I was 11 years old. I love it even more now, nearly ten years later, than I did then. Even being young adult fiction, it's a wonderfully written book that is historically acurate in its telling. This book was one of the reasons I became interested in historical fiction at a young age. It is a tale of war, of family, of alliances and perception - it is also a very sweet tale of love.

Time Enough For Drums is a book that young and old alike will enjoy. I could read the entire canon, and still it draws me back. Do yourself a favor and pick this book up.

Summary: The best historical fiction I ever read!
Review: I love this book! I finished it in one day, I just couldn't put it down! I never read any of Ann Rinaldi's books before, but now I just can't stop! I recommend this book to anyone who likes cliff hanging suspense, a little history, and romance. This book had a great ending, even though some sad events happen. I absolutely love this book, all my friends do too!

Summary: What a GREAT book! :)
Review: I just wanted to say that this is one of Ann Rinaldi's greatest books ever! Being an avid reader, I know what to look for in a great book and Time Enough for Drums follows all those guidelines for me. It's a romantic novel and a wonderful historical fiction story. It grabs you in and it doesn't let you go. I hope you like this story as much as I did and happy readings!!!!!

Summary: This is Incredible!!!
Review: I could not belive how cool that book was! I have never read a Ann Rinaldi book, but after that, I want more! The best part of the book is John Reid. He is so great! I love how he tried to hide that he really loved Jem! And she didn't very much at all. It was totally their personalities shining through! And to find out that he is not really a Tory is so weird! I don't like Jem's sister Becky, though. I can't belive that John loved her once! The way she is so rude to everyone in the family totally ticked me off! This book is excellent though! Read it!

Summary: By Far Rinaldi's Best!!! <3
Review: This is an awesome book. Filled with histrical facts about the Revolution. This book makes history come alive.
Heroine Jemina Emerson starts out as a carefree 15 yr. old And grows into a caring spirited and patriotic woman.
This book has many wonderful and positive twists and turns. Her despised tory tutor ends up being a spy for Washington! When Jem Finds that out her true feeling toword John Reid become evident.
Some other Reviews state that When Jem falls for John it seems pathetic because earlier in the book he's a gerk, but they BOTH change. John was also upset about her father and I think he didn't sympathize because there was a WAR going on. If he sympathized over everything He'ld have been crazy and a sap.
To make it short this book is the best. Read it or regret it.

Review: I LOVED THIS BOOK! Although it was easy, (I read the entire thing in like 8 hours) I could never put it down. It keeps you reading on and on. Ann Rinaldi is one of my favorite authours. I actually used parts from her book the Secret of Sarah Rivere for a competivie forsenics compition and I got 5th place out of 40 people. I would recomend this book to any teenage girl who is not afraid of reading historical fiction. I would also recomend any of Ms. Rinaldi's books to any avid historical fiction fan.

Summary: TERRIFIC PIECE OF HISTORICAL FICTION!!
Review: This book is now one of my most prized possessions, if you can believe it. It is always a delight to read again and again. It's amazing how Rinaldi has made a 238-page story seem like a thousand pages. It is full of great historical facts with moving outcomes. In the beginning it seems a lot like the movie 'Gone With the Wind' with Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable. Everything seems barely touched by war's tradgedies, almost cheerful. Then as the story progresses it becomes more dismal and grey. Jemima is even like Scarlett O'Hara in that she is spoiled and spirited. John Reid is a lot like Rhett Butler, arrogant and overbearing. Jem's & John's love story is very touching and romantic. Strong characters make a story worth reading and 'Time Enough For Drums' certainly has strong characters. I'd really, really like to see this book turned into a movie someday.

Summary: Great book!
Review: I think Ann Rinaldi is one of the best YA authors for historical fiction. Rinaldi always adds some romance and wonderful moments into her books. This book is about a girl named Jem, the setting is during the American Revolution. She can't stand her tutor, John Reid who seems to always to be on her case...later on that changes. Jem also doesn't like John because he's a Tory. She ends up finding things about him that surpraises the heck out of her. Her family ends up joining ther revolution. This is also a story about a girl's coming-of-age...Jem ends up maturing and taking respondsibility. She keeps the family together :O)
