Rating: Summary: One book you'll never forget! Review: I'm an eigth grade girl and I first read this book in 6th grade. I have read so many books after this one, and none can even come close to it! I met Ann Rinaldi and I was surprised when she told me there weren't many copies around. A book like this should be everywhere! It had everything, conflict, romance, and so much more. I couldn't put it down! I think anyone who reads this book, will love it!
Rating: Summary: This book is the most wonderful book ever written! Review: I first read this book in 6th grade and I truly feel in love with it. I have read it so many times, that I had to get another copy! I would say any young adult should read it. It has romance, conflict, sadness, and happiness. Ann Rinaldi captures Jem and brings her to life! Anyone will enjoy this book!
Rating: Summary: This book will capture you mind and Heart! Review: I love this book. I'm a girl in 8th grade and I haven't read a better book! Forget Judy Blume... this is the real time. Rinaldi uses charectorization so well, you feal as if you know the charectors. My favorite charector is John Reed - what a gentleman! I would recomend this book to anyone - espicially teens. This is a big improvement from average teen novels like Deanie, and Forever. *If you have read this book and liked it as much as I did try reading "The Witch of Blackbird Pond" and "Calico Captive" by Elizabeth George Speare*
Rating: Summary: I couldn't put it down! Review: I checked this book out at my school library and I loved it. I like it so much that I wan't to re-read it but I haven't been able to find it anywhere. This book is great if you like history, romace, and tragity,or if you just plainly like Ann Rinaldi. Elizabeth
Rating: Summary: Excellent book to read! Highly reccomendend. Review: I read it for the first time when I was twelve years old. I read it over and over until the age of sixteen. I lent it to a friend to read and they lost it. I have been searching for another copy of the book, but am unable to find it. This search has lasted for four years. Now, I am not one to fall in love with a book so easily. That is why I must stress the quality of this book. It is historically correct, as well as very heart-felt. I still remember this book like I read it yesterday; however, I still have the urge to pick it up and read it all over again. I commend the author of this small-recognized masterpeice.
Rating: Summary: Great Review: This is a great book for Ann Rinaldi lovers. IF you like history, romance and tragedy this is for you. Erin
Rating: Summary: Great! Review: This is one of my favorite Rinaldi books. It touches on the Revolutionary War brother-against-brother (or rather, sister against sister) relationships, because Jemimah's sister married a British officer. It shows that people aren't always who you think they are. All these things come up during Jem's lessons with the Tory tutor she hates political wise, but likes a little against her own will.
Rating: Summary: I love this book so much that I've read it 5 times !!! Review: I absolutely love this book! I could not put it down . The relationship that developed between Jem and John Reid was beautiful ! I've read many of her books ,but this one has to be one of her best along with the " Last Silk Dress". It was a beautiful ,along with tragical story. A must read !!!
Rating: Summary: Awesome! Review: I loved this book! Icouldn't put it down. I reread it so many times I left it outside and my dogs got to it. Who wouldn't want to read about a spy in the disguise falling for one of the female students that he tutored. In every one of her stories their is at least one death of a person that you come to love even if they aren't the main character. What a wonderful reason to read.
Rating: Summary: My Absolute Favorite Book!!!! Review: I am a HUGE fan of Ann Rinaldi's books. The first book I ever read of hers was "The Last Silk Dress" and as soon as I finished it, I knew I wanted more. "Time Enough for Drums" is my absolute favorite book. It's about a girl named Jemima Emerson who is living in a time of war. She loves to disobey her tutor, John Reid, because she THINKS he is a Tory. When she finds out his true identity, she falls in love with him. Jemima faces many hardships as the war battles involve the ones that she loves. But through it all, Jemima stays strong. You definitly have to read this book, especially if you are a fan of Ann Rinaldi!
