Rating: Summary: emotional! Review: Lucas is an emotional tale about a boy who comes to the little town of Hale. Immediately, everyone takes a disliking to him because he is different and the town folk think of him as a threat. But Caitlin doesn't feel so. She feels that Lucas is unique and special and befriends him. From the first moment she sees Lucas, Caitlin's life changes forever. Her life becomes jumbled up and confusing and everyone around her starts to change. Lucas is the story of the summer in which Caitlin meets and parts with Lucas. Lucas is a sad book and the writer expresses the emotions Caitlin and her family faces very vividly. Every character is very unique and described in a detailed way so that you can easily imagine them. But this book can get confusing and there are many books with the similar story line. All in all, the story of this book is overused but the emotions are expressed very well.
Rating: Summary: This is a book you can literally fall in love with...... Review: Lucas is currently my favorite book that I have read, and, since I read about 9 books or more a month, and my favorite books change a lot, this is saying a lot for me. This book just took my mind away, I felt as though I was in the story. You expirience the emotions felt by the the main character; it's just beautifully written. This book is not for everyone, however. It is not for those who want a happy ending, this is perhaps one of the only books that has ever made me cry. It is written with such a sense of power, you get hooked by the fast pace of the story and cannot put it down. It is such a lovable book; a true joy to read. I highly recommend this story.
Rating: Summary: A haunting story Review: Lucas is one of the best books i have ever read. Period. The story is so captivating, it's one of those books that you just can't put down, and the minute you finish it, you want to read it again. In fact i have, i have read Lucas 2 times and are about to start on the 3rd. Kevin Brooks is a talented writer, and it truly shows through Lucas. I cry every time i read it, i even get teary-eyed just thinking about it. But its a good kind of crying. I definently recomend this book to anyone who is looking for a good read. You will enjoy it greatly.

Review: Lucas is the best book i have ever read! seriously, i didn't think it was gonna be this good. at first i was gonna choose another book over Lucas but i was like what the heck and it turned out to be awesome book. i was like WOW! when i finished it and since i finished it, i couldn't stop thinking about it. it is a sad book but it was still incredible. i REALLY recommend this book to everyone. even if your into magical, vampire, adventure, etc, kind of books, you will absolutely love this book.
Rating: Summary: A book of first love, family, friends, and enemies Review: Lucas, by Kevin Brooks can quite possibly be one of the most interesting, exciting and emotional books that I have ever read. A young girl named Caitlin takes you through a journey of first love without realizing it until the bitter end. It is hard to tear you eyes away from the imagry and life story Brooks portrays in just one book. It is a roller coster ride of emotions with intimate details of the life of Caitlin McCann and her intriquing new friend Lucas. It's not a first name, a middle name, or a last name, it's just Lucas. Within the first few lines of mentioning him, it is hard not to fall in love with his "calm, peaceful, and beautifully sad" features that make up Lucas' soul. I would recommend buying the book because as you finish the last page and slowly close the book shut, you will be so deep in emotion, you will never want to give it back. Brooks must be an angel sent from heaven reminding us that love lasts forever and to not ever give up on those who mean the most to us; even if it means sacraficing your boundries.
Rating: Summary: Marvelous Review: The novel Lucas captured me from begining to end. It was so wonderfully written that I felt what the character was the whole way through. After I had finished reading the book it left me in tears. I greatly recommend this book to anyone, teenager or adult. You will like it.
Rating: Summary: One of the best books I've read this year! Review: This book is an excellent find. I happened upon it in time to ask for it for Christmas, and read it in three days time after I received it. I insisted my friend read it, and she did so just as quickly. It's addictive. Brooks pulls you in and lets you know this isn't a story for those "faint of heart" or people who can't handle the truth of youth today. Lucas and Caitlin are intense characters with real depth, taking you to their island in England and out of your own home. If you never read, now is the time to start with Lucas.
Rating: Summary: Best Book Ever Review: This is the greatest book you will ever read in your entire life. Kevin Brooks writes in such detail that you get attached to his realistic characters. His writing makes you think, and yet he's not trying to preach anything to you which is what makes him the greatest author ever. There is not a single flaw in this book and no one will be able to resist absolutely loving it.
Rating: Summary: A sad story of love and hate. Review: This is the story of Caitlin, who lives with her father and older brother Dominic. One day, Caitlin meets a strange boy who lives on his own and wanders from place to place. He is quite a mystery, with his beautiful blue eyes that seem to hold so much wisdom, yet he seems so honest and innocent.
Then, when Lucas saves a girl from drowning, the town turns against him and fears him and hates him for just being different.
This story will keep you riveted, and will leave you breathless when you are through. I was a little mad with how it ended, but the book was still a great read that I recommend to everyone.
Rating: Summary: Madder then Heck Review: This was a wonderful book expect the ending ... all the events through out the book kept you on edge and not wanting to put it down, but if u like happy ending this isn't for you!
