Review: If you think you have read the best book in the world and you've never read "IF YOU COME SOFTLY" then you haven't!"IF YOU COME SOFTLY" is the best book I have ever read. It is so exciting and you'll never want to put it down. Jeremiah and Elisha meet ar school and from there they feel in love. Elisha's dad is racist and doesn't want Elisha seeing Jeremiah. They still see each other and then one day when Jeremiah was leaving Elisha's house something horrible happened! Jacqueline Woodson made this book seem so real and i couldn't put it down. I think you should read "IF YOU COME SOFTLY". It gives you a good idea about people that in some way, shape, form or color are different and the troubles that they may face in their relationships. Read "IF YOU COME SOFTLY". It may be the best book you have ever read.

However, i found it to be the most boring book i had ever read. There was no climax! So, i wont be found reading any of her books ever again.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: ONE OF THE TOP LOVE STORIES FOR TEENS Review: Even though there are a lot of love stories for teens out there, so many of them are just so horrible. This story tells you about true love, a love so deep that nothing can destroy it, not people, not circumstances and not even death itself. Ellie and Miah. White girl, black boy. Soulmates. What else is there to say?
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This is one damn-good book.!!! Review: This is one of the best books I have read in my entire life. it took me only two nights to read (and I'm an incredibly slow reader) because I simply couldn't put it down. This book deals with the hard-core reality that there is still hate and violence out there and that we must fight to overlook the simple things. Woodson has truly outdone herself. I strongly reccomend this book to anyone grades 8-10.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: If You Come Softly- A Very Touching Book Review: I chose to read "If You Come Softly" for a book for school, and I loved it. I like to read love stories and this book really kept my interest. It is about interracial dating with a black boy and a white girl. This story delt with discrimination against people of different races being together. It also delt with the hardships a couple must go through when they are being discriminated against. I would recommend this book for teens who are interested in reading romance books ...
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great read! Review: When Ellie and Miah meet at school, they instantly connect--even though she's Jewish and he's black. To them, that does not matter, but the rest of the world sees things differently. Whenever they are together, people stare. One day, while Ellie and Miah are walking and holding hands through Central Park, two elderly ladies ask Ellie if she is okay while suspiciously eyeing Miah. At this point in time, Ellie's parents do not know about Miah, only her sister Anne does. Anne did not react too happily which angered Ellie because of all people, she thought Anne would be more accepting since she is a lesbian. Now, Ellie wonders if her parents will accept Miah, or will they be like everyone else? This story focuses on the subject of interracial dating and on the discrimination and racism many blacks endure today. The author has done this in a way that will leave you thinking about your own prejudices. It is interesting that alternating chapters focus on Miah or Ellie with Ellie's chapters written in the first person perspective and Miah's chapters written in the second person perspective. Ms. Woodson has written a fine book that is must-read for middle school and early high school students.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Gives hope for a Brighter Future Review: When I picked this book up, I wasn't planning on falling in love with it. It was so wonderful, I chose to do a book report on it (which by the way earned me an A) The writting style is wonderful, it kept me turning page after page. I wont give away the ending, but I was moved! Finally, an author has written something that is completly real. In a world where mixing races is "taboo" Woodson shows that a love between two people is special and more important that others opinions! Read this book if you have a heart!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This touching book Review: This book, " If You Come Softly", is one of the best books that i have ever read. The author attacks two very sensitive subjects all at once. Miah and Ellie sound like the typical couple in love. It's such a shame how they are seperated. I would recommend this book to anyone who has a heart.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A Racist Love Review: Friendship, relationships, and racism are a few words to describewhat the book IF YOU COME SOFTLY by Jacqueline Woodson is about. The book is sad, enjoyable, and funny. Brooklyn, New York in the 1990's had many minority groups including a black population. Jeremiah one of the main characters, is black and lives in Brooklyn. Jeremiah is a generous, caring, warm-hearted teenage boy. Another mian character is a teenage, Jewish girl named Ellie. Ellie is caring, shy, and lovable. She live a little outside of Brooklyn. Jeremiah and Ellie go to the same school and are in the same grade but, have never met until, they collide into each other in the hall. At that moment when picked their heads up, their eyes met and they knew "love at first sight" was true. Then, they started talking more and became friends. They would meet in the park because noth Ellie's and Jeremiah's parents were racist and disagree with them hanging out. Finally, one day Jeremiah got the nerve to bring Ellie to his mom's house. The biggest conflict in the book was with the characters and thier parents disagreedwith Jeremiah's and Ellie's decision because of their race. Woodson, the author gave vivid descriptions of Ellie and Jeremiah. I liked this book because it kept me reading. I wanted to know if the characters were able to convince their parents, which the author did an excellent job on to keep me reading. I really enjoyed this book because of the way it was written. This book is about a black boy and a Jewish girl who fall in love but, their parents are racist. When, the characters had to face their parents it reminded of me of my school. Most of the people get along with each other but, some are very racist. THose people have theirrr owns groups and won't talk to the other race or they will taunt the other race. It made me sad that people can't get along because of their race. The book IF YOU COME SOFTLY by Jacqueline Woodson is filled with details and description. Also, it'll keep you reading to find out the good parts and what happens in the end. This book is a true 10 on a scale from 0 to 10. I would recommedthis book, IF YOU COME SOFTLY to people who like books about teenagers and relationships.
