Summary: Still a fun read
Review: I read this book back when I was in sixth grade, and a few months ago I read it aloud to my little sister. It is still one of my favorite books. Full of action and description... very easy to get into.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Worst book I ever read.
Review: I read this book for a school project, and I found it disappointing. It took a day and a half to read, there was hardly any plot, and the ending was mundane. This book will get you bored in 3 minutes because of the lack of entertainment and quality. Just don't buy this book, it's a total waste of time and money.

Summary: Very nice
Review: In all this was a good book. It wasn't jumpy it had adventure and it began with a bang and ended the same way. There was almost never a dull moment and when there was it was only for a few lines. Parts you just can't wait to happen and parts that you can't believe just happened. The characters were well thought up and exhalant executed in personality each one is unique and creatively characterized. The setting followed the story 100% following in details and surroundings. Intensely written to the point where you want to scream out. Canyons was awesome from his adventures through the canyons and at school were written extravagantly well as well as the rest of the book. I recommend this book to all audiences it is a great book for kids to have read to them or for kids and adults to read. No matter when or where this book will be just as good. Canyons is a book that can be read many times.

Summary: Olympic runners will love this book.
Review: In Canyons, by Gary Paulsen, there are two main characters. One is Coyote Runs, an Apache Indian who is about to become a man when the story begins. He was killed during a war against British soldiers. About two hundred years later, the second character is a 12 year old boy named Brennan. Brennan's favorite activity is running. During a camping trip the to El Paso desert in between Mexico and Texas, Brennan digs up a skull. He wants to know more about the skull. Professor Homesley is Brennan's science teacher. Brennan goes to Homesley to find out more about the skull and whose brain used to be in it.

I would say that Canyons is very similar to one of Gary Paulsen's other books, Hatchet. Both boys live with their mothers and both know how to survive in the wilderness.

Hatchet, Dogsong, and The Winter Room, all by Gary Paulsen, each won a Newbery Honor award.

I thought Canyons was a pretty interesting book, but was also quite boring in certain chapters. I found much of the book too full of scientific information that I didn't understand. I have also read Hatchet and Dongsong by Gary Paulsen and prefer them to Canyons. If I were you I would pick something else to read.

Summary: Canyons
Review: The book Canyons is about two boys who are separated by a canyon. The boys are the same age. One boy is an Indian and the other boy is just a plain boy. Canyons has a real setting. It is real because it took place in the canyons. The characters in Canyons were real. They were real because they ran in the canyons. I think Coyote Runs is a likeable person because he is very nice. I liked the story Canyons because it is funny in some parts and some parts you really wanted to know what happened next. It was exciting because in chapter 9 Coyote Runs goes on a raid and there is alot of exciting stuff happens. My favorite part is when Coyote Runs found the straw colored horse. It was my favorite part because the horse didn't do anything but stand there. The main person in this book learned that he could learn alot from skulls. I would recommend this book to my friend because it is an exciting book. If my friend liked that book he would like King of the Wind.
