Summary: Heart gripping
Review: A great book, with lots of action. Couldn't put it down, great for boys about 12 to 20. My mum even read it and loved it. Action, suspense and a little romance with lots and lots of courage.

Summary: John Marsden be my friend
Review: Although not as action-packed and satisfying as the previous books in the series, Darkness Be My Friend stands out as one of the best. It would be a mistake to say the book is slow, however-there are still several suspensful scenes of action. This book may let readers down by lacking a huge, explosive victory from our protagonists, but this serves to make the series even more realistic. Darkness Be My Friend also contains what is surely the saddest scene in the entire series. This is a must-read, of course, for anyone who enjoyed the previous books.

Summary: Seven Marsden books--what order do they come in!
Review: Ashton, as Ellie would say to your plaint about the order of the books in the series, "If I lay it all out for you you won't grow and become a better person." I too get terribly mixed up on the different titles, and their order. I think I have two copies of #3, with different titles and different cover illustrations. These are the American and the UK editions. The only way I ever figured it out was that, in some of the books, on about the third page from the front cover, they show their pictures and array them in proper order. Once I had painfully figured it out, I wrote the numbers in my copies. So I could now go home (I'm at the office), get out the stack, arrange them by the numbers I've written in them, copy the list and send it to you. Although some of the others would think it's the least a fellow could do for a mate, that would upset Ellie, eh? I think I have to warn you of something--you who loved the first book so much. They don't actually get better. They bounce along, usually as good as Tomorrow, and sometimes almost as good. -koert

Summary: Best Book Series Ever
Review: I am an avid reader, but this book series is defaitnly the best I have ever read. I bought the first book once it came out, but had to put it down, because of required reading for school. Over teh summer, I started reading it again, and was down before the second day. I rushed out to buy Dead OF The Night.. And waited impatently until my bookstore could have The Killing Frost shipped in. I am now waiting for teh next inslatment, and am very impatient!

Summary: A bit of a let down!
Review: I found this book a bit of a let down to tell the truth. It just didn't have the action of the other books and none of their plans worked. I love Ellie and the others but i don't think this book did them justice. i would like to read on though so if anyone knows the titles of the 5th and 6th books...

Summary: extremely intriging book
Review: I found this book in the local library and thought what a strange book so I decided to read it. I throughly enjoyed it as the book contained a lot of action packed adventure and also some sad parts which made me cry...

Summary: Darkness be my Friend IS as good as the others
Review: I have just completed the final book in the series, book seven: 'The Other Side of Dawn' and I have to say that it was every bit as good as the other six, although I think some readers might be a little disconcerted by the ending. 'Darkness Be My Friend' may lack the action and romance of the other books, but I think that Marsden was more interested in portraying some of the mental distruction of war and violence. Fighting battles can not be all about winning, not every plan can succeed and people pay for it both physically and psychologically, but if they're strong enough they can overcome it, and go on to fight some even more spectacular battles. I personally really apreciated this book, because I wouldn't have found the series as believial if it was all about death, destruction and win, win, win. Life is simply not like that.

Summary: Couldn't put it down!
Review: I love this book, and the whole series. I had read the other three pretty quickly, however, for some strange reason, I was hesitant to read this one. Took me a few months to pick it up. I start this book about 5 days ago, and finished it last night at 1:30 am! I read 130 pages that night! I just couldn't stop! It was so great and I can't wait to read the last three. John Marsden is such a genius in his writing. Though this book didn't have as much action as the previous ones, it was still very fulfilling and worth my time. I bet the next three will be the best!
