Rating: Summary: A New View of Princess Elizabeth Review: I was glad to read a different view on Princess Elizabeth's life. This book focuses on Elizabeth's life after her father's death until she becomes queen. The young princess has to endure much such as spies all around her. The young princess knows she has slim hopes of ever being able to rein, being third in line for the succession of the throne. However Elizabeth proves everybody wrong by not only surviving her brother Edward's rule but also her evil sister Mary's rule and finally becomes queen. However the way to the throne was far from easy for Elizabeth. She had to endure the conspiraces after her dear brother's death and the execution of Lady Jane Grey, the queen of nine days, and she had to endure the stay in the Tower, locked away by Mary, who thinks she is going to try to take over the throne. Mary's spies are never far from Elizabeth and she has to live a life of danger everyday. Elizabeth knows, one day may be her last, if Mary doesn't trust her loyalty.Caroyln Meyer succeded again in writing another great historical novel. I really like this book because it gave a different perspective into Elizabeth's life and how hard it was for her just to stay alive, and living each day with fear of execution. I highly recommend you read the companion to this book about Elizabeth's sister, Mary Tudor. The book is called "Mary, Bloody Mary.
Rating: Summary: Beware, Princess Elizabeth!... Review: I would had give 3 and 1/2 stars if I could but not 4. Some readers had find the book "Mary, Bloody Mary" better then "Beware, Princess Elizabeth", I find "Beware, Princess Elizabeth" much better. It was not a book who keep you wanting to read more and more but it's not a bad book also, it good if you want to know the life of "Elizabeth I" when she was younger, it give you the main fact of her life.
Rating: Summary: You' ve heard Mary's story, what about Elizabeth? Review: If you have read Bloody Mary you would have learned why Mary was Elizabeth's enemy. You would have learned of how much Mary was tormented by Anne Boleyn and how because of her, Mary's mother was cast away. What of Elizabeth? The accident and now only remnant remaining of Anne Boleyn? Elizabeth's life story is no better than Mary's. In this book you see how Elizabeth could never trust hardly anyone and her tiny limit of friends such as her governess, Kat Ashley. You see how strong Elizabeth had to remain, to see her sister pursue her with so much hate and remorse. You hear of what made Elizabeth never want to marry. This is an excellent book and if you have read The Royal Diary of Elizabeth then you would see that both books are spectacular. However in the Royal Diary their is less peril and horror as in this book because Elizabeth was younger. It's safe enough to say that Elizabeth suffered more as she became older. Elizabeth endured much and this book takes many gloomy turns as Bloody Mary did. Cheers for Meyer on her excellent job!
Rating: Summary: Very interesting Review: If you wanted a good historical fiction book, then this is probably one of the best books that you could ever read. This book depicts the youth of Queen Elizabeth I, from a little after she was born to when her sister Mary died and she was crowned queen of England. This book has all the facts- everything date-wise and people-wise that you read in it is true, and you can check in other non-fiction biographies if you want to (Behind the Mask, a biography over Elizabeth, is a really good book to read if you become hooked on stories of her life). This is really interesting, even for a fiction book; the story of her life reads like a drama from someone's head. Even if you think you know a lot about Henry VIII and his family, I still recommend this. If you just like to read, I recommend this, but it's more of a girl's book than a boy's book. Read it, and you'll thank me!
Rating: Summary: Elizabeth...Beware!!! Review: Imagine your father just passed away, your nine-year-old brother is crowned king, a friend who betrays you, and your older sister doing everything to stop you from reaching your goal. That's what Elizabeth I has to deal with. Will her older sister be ruined her quest for the throne, or will she rule over England as their queen. When Elizabeth's father, King Henry VIII, dies, her nine-year-old brother is crowned king. He is a very young royal, and his advisors make most of his decisions for him. But after his death a few years later, Elizabeth's older sister, Mary I, is crowned and locks Elizabeth in the Tower of London. What will become of Elizabeth? Will she remain in the tower forever, or will she be released to carry on the Tudor name after her sister Mary? Read this wonderful book to find out! This book is magnificent! Meyer includes, adventure, love, hatred, and Elizabeth shows definite determination. I never wanted to put this book down. I just wanted to keep reading it and finding out what exciting thing happened next! This book was outstanding from beginning to end! Everyone should have the pleasure of reading this book! This book made me realize that you can be rich, royal, and very important to everyone, but that doesn't make your life perfect. Elizabeth had a rough life. Seeing her troubles she faced in this book, made me understand that some people have worse problems than me. Her life was definitely not like those of a fairy tale princess! I recommend this book to anyone who knows about English history. If you don't know a lot about it, it could be difficult trying to follow along with the story. But also, I mainly recommend Beware Princess Elizabeth to girls about 11 and older. I think that this book has words in it that a younger audience wouldn't understand what the meaning is. Overall, this book gets a perfect score! 10 out of 10 *stars*! This book is astounding! I think you'll like it too. So, go to your local bookstore and check it out!

Rating: Summary: 4 1/2 Stars For Beware, Princess Elizabeth! Review: Princess Elizabeth, daughter of King Henry VIII, faces dangers and perils. Once her father dies, her brother becomes king. But sadly, he also quickly dies, moving the crown to her sister, Mary. Princess Elizabeth faces many hardships along her teenage life, in struggle to become Queen of England. Will she reach her goal of becoming queen? I think this is an amazing story, shown from the point of view of Princess Elizabeth. Carolyn Meyer seems to make this real story seem almost fictional with her wordplay. I thouroughly enjoyed this extremely suspensful and eduacational book. I highly reccomend this to people who like exciting history!
Rating: Summary: Beware, Princess Elizabeth Review: Spies everywhere, potential poisoning, being sent to rot in the tower, a Queen who's sure not to put you on the throne as a sister; that's the life of Princess Elizabeth for you. Taking place right after the death of King Henry VII Beware, Princess Elizabeth tells the tale of how Elizabeth, Princess of Wales, survived the rein of not only her brother, whom she loved dearly, but the infamous rein of her sister, Princess Mary Tudor. Told by Princess Elizabeth herself, she tells you of how she lived day to day life in the royal court and what she thinks of the dukes, earls, and princes whom King Philip II, Queen Mary's husband, tries to marry them off to her. Being as steadfast as Elizabeth is on not marrying, she refuses all proposals and lives in fear of what the King and Queen, especially the Queen, might say or do about her defiance. Having every one she loves either dead or taken away by the order of the Queen, Elizabeth feels totally and utterly alone. How will she survive this horrible torture and still hope to become Queen of England? Find out in the wonderful book entitled Beware, Princess Elizabeth and enjoy! My personal opinion of the book was that it was quite entertaining. I do admit that it did have some parts where it was a little long-winded but those parts were few. For the most part I gave the book 5 whole stars for its great development of the characters and making history come alive and enjoyable to read.

I would tell you my favorite part, but I don't have one, I loved it all! I want to read it over and over again. My favorite character was Elizabeth because she is just like me.
