Rating: Summary: GREAT BOOK ! Review: I gave this book 5 stars because it's by far my faviourite book i've read on Queen Elizebeth. Every page was more and more exiting, full of romance, comedy and everything you could want in a book! Carolyn Meyer is a super writer and I recommend this book to anyone who, like me, loves to read a good book!!
Rating: Summary: *cool* Review: I got this book 2 years ago at my school's book fair.I simply couldn't put it down. So far I've read it over 9 times (and no, I'm NOT exagerrating). After I read it once I had become a total Tudor freak. So,enough about me.The book starts off with Elizabeth learning that her fathers dead. And that her brothers King (it would be SCAREY if my brother were 'king').I love how Carolyn Meyer gives history a fun twist.Plus the book has only 1 bad word.I'll sum it down to this :if your considering buying this book DO IT !!
Rating: Summary: Beware Princess Elizabeth Review: I have always admired Elizabeth Tudor for her strengh when she was a child. Imagine having your mother beheaded when you were a child. I don't think I could have been able to deal with it. Elizabeth never thought badly of her father even though he was awful to her at times. I have read other books on Elizabeth and this one is probably one of the best.
Rating: Summary: beware of princess elizabeth Review: I liked the book. I was fond of elizabeth. I did my projects on her when I had the chance, I like that she showed men who was the boss, and that she didn't need them for anything at all, Elizabeth was indepent. I would consider this book to who ever likes to hear stories about the royal familys, like I do. Elizabeth was mean when she got mad,but she never send any body to cute their heads off for pleasure.
Rating: Summary: History... but not by any means boring! Review: I liked this book so much! It has history but it's not boring. You get to really learn what Elizabeth was thinking and feeling as her sister Mary ruled. Also you learn about Mary Bloody Mary who burned people who weren't her religion. You learn about how many people lost there lives trying to overthrow Mary and get Elizabeth queen. I couldn't put this book down it just flowed so nicely you couldn't get bored of it. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: very good book, almost like mary, bloody mary! Review: i loved this book as much as mary, bloody mary. very cool and it gave me a whole new perspective to elizabeths life instead of some horrible, evil person (which is totally not her), she was struggling w/ her life and her sister, the 'beloved mary' was trying to kill her, just because of her mother! (if im not makin' sense, ya have to read the one before that to understand).
Rating: Summary: This was a great book Review: I loved this book! I was already very interested in the Tudor history, although I was more intested in Elizabeth and Mary. I really enjoyed finding things I knew and being able too relate them. I finished this book in one day and I was real unhappy that I finished it because I wanted it to last forever. Poor Elizabeth, her father died and her sickly brother becomes King. Soon Queen MAry comes to throne, but England didn't know what kind of person MAry was. England was now stricken with a famine and a treacherous Queen,Bloody Mary. Elizabeth was confused, first Mary was her friend, than MArywas putting her in horrible predicaments, Elizabeth didn't understand. Then oneday she... well you figure out what happens, or you could just buy this WONDERFUL book.
Rating: Summary: Beware, Princess Elizabeth Review: I read the book Beware Princess Elizabeth by Caroline Meyer. It is historical fiction. This story is about how the youngest daughter of King Henry VIII struggled to reach the throne. Princess Elizabeth is on her own. Who will help her to become the queen of England? This story takes place in England. Elizabeth had an older sister and a younger brother. Her older sister was Mary Tudor, the daughter of the king's first wife. Mary was greedy and tried to look richer and younger than she was. Her younger brother was Edward Tudor, the son of the king's third wife. Edward was nine years old and was scared of being the king. The theme of the story is to tell how much Elizabeth had to struggle to become queen. King Henry the VIII had six wives. Elizabeth's mother was the second wife. Everyone hated her mother, Anne Boleyn, especially Elizabeth's sister, Mary. As Elizabeth and Mary grew up, they realized that they were enemies. Since Edward was the king's first son and the king had died, Edward was the king. But when he died at age 16, Mary was queen. Mary forced England to change its religion, and anyone who did not obey had to be burned alive or beheaded. That is why Elizabeth and Mary hated each other so much and that is why Elizabeth wanted to be queen so badly. I liked this book because it is exciting. It is really interesting and it helps you to learn the history of England. It also describes the life of royalty.
Rating: Summary: The life of a princess Review: I read this book as part of an assignment for a children's Lit class. I found this book to very accurate in terms of the historical content and the intrigue that surrounded Elizabeth I. I also found it to be great read as well.I liked that the author chose to tell the story in the first person as it makes Elizabeth feel real and that her life was not a easy one, even if she was destined for the throne. I think that this would be great companion to Kathryn Lansky's Elizabeth I,Red Rose of the House of Tudor. Which is about Elizabeth's preteen years.
Rating: Summary: Go Elizabeth! Review: I really recomend this book to anyone who is interested in Tudor History, British History, or just looking for a good read. It starts when Elizabeth learns of her father's death. She then witnesses her brother Edward's cordentation. She lives with her Step-Mother, Dowager Queen Catherine, and falls helplessly in love with Catherine's husband. She kisses him, and Catherine dies. She then finds out a plot in which she marries Catherine's husband. Everything goes okay, until she realizes her brother is dying. She then hears of her brother's will and hears of her sister's succesion. She then realizes that because of that, she is the next in line for the throne. But Mary, (Her sister) treats her badly and makes her a prisoner. But when Mary dies childless, Mary realizes that she has to make her half-sister her succeser.
