Summary: This book changed my life.
Review: I was horrified to find that The Ordinary Princess is out of print - I wish I had taken better care of my hardcover copy. This is seriously one of the best books I ever read as a child, and I still take it down from the shelf from time to time to read bits of it. Reading the new Harry Potter books reminds me of The Ordinary Princess. Both books possess the same fantastical adventures, instill in the reader a magical sense of wonder and self-confidence, and promote acceptance of others. Everyone should read this book - especially if you have a young daughter - go hunt down a copy today.

Summary: A truly magical story!
Review: I first read this story in Cricket Magazine, where it was put into the magazine a chapter at a time. I loved it, and could never wait for the next issue to come in the mail. Now that I'm older, just thinking about the story makes me ant to read it over and over! I love the ilustrations, too, especially those of her rather soggy fairy-godmother. I am sad that it is out of print and hope that I will someday find a copy of it.

Summary: unforgettable fairy tale
Review: I have loved The Ordinary Princess from the first time I read it at the age of nine. This story is just indescribably perfect. It's got the romance, make-believe and comedy that would never let you put it down. I go down to the library to borrow it time and again because I could never get tired of reading it.

Summary: A sweet little fantasy that deserves to be in print
Review: The Ordinary Princess is a wonderful little book complete with dainty illustrations that demonstrates the delightfulness to be had in being perfectly ordinary. Often humorous and always charming, this is the perfect optimistic pick-me-up book. I'd set it next to Thurber's equally marvelous (but much stranger) The 13 Clocks and Babbit's The Search For Delicious.

Summary: This is a fantastic book!
Review: I haven't seen this book in nearly 10 years, but I loved it so much that I've been trying to find it again ever since. A perfect book for anyone who doesn't think they're good enough to be a princess.

Summary: The best book ever!!!
Review: I do not remember when I first read this book, but I have read it at least a hundred times since. I love all of the subtle bits of humor interspersed within the story (how they have to nail down the dishes when the crowned prince of Kleptomania comes to dinner). What little girl would not be excited to have brown hair and brown eyes so that she could have an adventure like this? And what older girl would not wish to meet her own Perry? No matter what, this book can always make me smile. I know that I will be reading it to my daughter some day the way that my mom read it to me!

Summary: The best book ever written!!
Review: I am in the 8th grade, and I have read this book at least three times a year since I first discovered it, when I was in 4th grade. I have never found a book with a better plot, better character development, or better descriptions. I was deeply disappointed to find out that this wonderful and exquisite book is out of print, so now I know that I will have to keep my copy from being destroyed to ensure that I will be able to share this book with my daughter!! (That is, if I ever have one.) This book has truly changed my life, and definitely for the better.

Summary: Proof that ordinary girls can find true love too!
Review: This delightful book has been without a doubt my favourite for ten years. I read it first when I was 8, and now as an 18 year old I feel it is an old friend. With its charming characters and appropriate ending, fans of classic fairy tales will like this book. So will any girl who ever doubted that ordinary-looking girls could find true love ! A fantastic gift for any young women in your life, and a refreshing twist on the typical Grimms brothers and Hans Christian Anderson!

Summary: Beautiful classic
Review: A beautiful story with glorious watercolour illustrations. A princess you can aspire to emulate, neither drippy nor having the onus of doing impossible tasks, all you need is COMMON SENSE! Years ago I bought the paperback version for my niece which only had the black and white drawings. I later found the hardback version with M.M. Kaye's watercolour illustrations in a library. I was seriously tempted to take it and pay the fine for 'losing' it, but it gives pleasure to more people where it is. A modern classic, a delightful, simply told fairy tale. I was disappointed not to find any other M.M. Kaye children's books.

Summary: A Great Children's Classic!!!!
Review: I read this book for the first time when I was about 8 years old. I loved it then, and love it now, as I still have my copy from then...well worn and loved. I think that Amy as a character is a great role model for girls everywhere, and who wouldn't love Perry?? I read it again every once in a while to remember how great it is, and hope that I can pass it on when I have my own children!
