Summary: The BEST children's book ever!
Review: The Ordinary Princess is without question in my mind the best children's book. It's heroine, Amy, is a smart, plain-looking, and fun girl...oh, yeah, and a princess. She runs away from home to avoid being married off by her parents. She becomes a ordinary kitchen maid and, well, I won't spoil the rest, but suffice it to say this is a story for the 90% of us who aren't beautiful golden-haired, blue eyed little girls or young women. The magic of this story lies in its straightforward, humorous, and tender language and in it's simple but powerful message.

Summary: please - Please - PLEASE - reprint!
Review: Since the average rating of this book is 5 stars - it deserves every one of them - it's one of my all-time favorite books that I can read again and again and again - you get the point. I only wonder why they don't do a reprint of it - I bet there are literally thousands of people who would do almost anything to get their hands on a hard-cover copy of their own with the original illustrations. I have 2 of the 1986 paperback with the corny cover picture, and I love them. All I have to say is: Buy a copy - any copy - if you can get your hands on it - it's really great.

Summary: Teenage Girls Must Read It!
Review: I read this book seventeen times when I was an adolescent. It is a wonderful book for an ordinary girl to read. I would recommend it to all.

Review: I got this book from my sister one year for christmas. It was one of my first chapter books. I still have it better than 10 years later and I still read it. It is one of my favorites. The simple magic in the story will melt any heart. I suggest it to anyone with a young daughter, sister, cousin, whatever. A wonderful story!

Review: I'm 13 and I love fairy tales. This is definately the best I've ever read! Amy is so much like me, the nose, freckels, hair, and eyes (except mine are green). This is definitely "The Fairy Tale of All Time".

Summary: you won't be disappointed...
Review: The Ordinary Princess was first given to me in elementary school as part of a reading program. It has since become my favorite book, which I read again and again. Although I'm not a little girl anymore, the story line still appeals to me. It's more than just a fairy tale. Kaye writes such descriptive verse that you are transported into Princess Amy's world. I am definitely going to read this to my future children. You have to read this book! =)

Summary: The loveliest fairy tale you'll find
Review: This is yet another of my childhood love affairs. I absolutely adored it then (and still do). It is unique in its complete innocence and witty humour, as well as its storyline. The main character, Amy, is charming, unpretentious, and totally engaging. The story itself seems to completely ignore all traditional rules governing literature, going blissfully in its own direction, and gaining charm all the while.

Yes, it's a love story, but there's no hint of immorality. Yes, it's a fairy tale - but it's also a story about real life. Yes, it's regrettably short - but its sweetness makes up for its length by far.

I think this book is one that will be cherished until everyone is illiterate or dead. It is a marvelously happy, bright, and encouraging tale.

Summary: Not an ordinary fairy tale
Review: I first read this book in 4th grade from my school library. After that I borrowed it 9 more times until I left school. Search for a copy today or you'll be sorry.

Summary: Great Bedtime Story
Review: I love this book. I first found it at the local library. I want a copy for myself that I can read to my children just as my mother read it to me. It's a wonderful non-average fairy tale.
