Rating: Summary: Living Life in the Fat Lane Review: My eyes were literally glued to this novel while reading it this past summer. We have all grown up in a society where being thin is praised from barbie dolls to models in magazines, but this story makes me realize that popularity and weight is actually overrated and that the most important thing is the beauty inside. This novel starts out somewhat like a sweetvalley high book with references to social groups and popularity, which seems almost too typical. However, the novel then begins to decend into a heartbreaking story about a former beauty queen who's life is turned a full 180 degrees after she keeps gaining weight regardless of what she does. This novel sends the message that we are not fat or thin: we are human beings.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful book for all girls! Review: We read this book in english. It has a few harsh words but you honestly don't notice them. I read it in one day. I usually don't like to read but I could'nt put this down. I would recommend the book for 8th grade through colledge. As a teenager I cope with some of the same problems as Lara does and this book just teaches you how to deal and gives you a look and a grip with reality. I think teen girls everywhere should read this book at least once. I love it!!!! Thanks, Amanda Yonkers
Rating: Summary: Page Flipper Review: This book is defently a page flipper. At first you think oh another teen book, but when Lara gets this sickness you think wow i have to find what is happening. For people who are dealing with a weight issue or a weight disease should defently read this book. It is very inspriring and Lara becomes almost an inspiration to the reader. It is a 10+ in rating.
Rating: Summary: This book relates to my life Review: I think this book is honestly one of the best books I've ever read. My best friend is over weight, she has a disorder justlike in FAT LANE, and she also has a brain tumor, and has to have chemotherapy. But people don't care. They just see that she's fat, and make fun of her. That's exactly like Lara in FAT LANE. Thanks so much Cherie, for an awesome book! This is totally a 5 star rating book! From...

The book is so motivating, and it makes you thankful to be the person you are. I found the book in my closet and started reading on Friday.. by Saturday I had finished the book! It has so many issues girls these days would face. For example just to list a few, it talks about wieght problems, eating disorders, emotional stress, theres a love story envolved, divorce, and even keeping a good reputation, just because of who you are! I hope that this review will encourage you to go get this book because it is worth it!
Rating: Summary: Awesome book! Review: I thought this book was really good and it related to many subjects that go on with teenagers now. There are still some unanswered questions and events in there so the sequal to it probably would be just as good as the first one.
Rating: Summary: A LETTER FOR THE AUTHOR.... Review: First off..lemme tell u..great title for the novel..perfectly fits. This novel...it has left me speechless. Some of the lines in here..that lara says..her thoughts..they are just so touching..and have an impact that goes beyond the words. The messages are immense. I loved it!! ... i related to most in the novel..was the message of pefectionism. ... Being "FAT" is supposed to be bad becuase its not good for your health and etc etc. However, when all these people...like the ones lara encounters in you book, they call her lard and stuff and call her fat..because all of a sudden itsdisgusting...people aren't concerned with the fact that being overweight is bad for your health..they're concerened with the IMAGE it produces to their eyes. ...this book has moved me in ways unimaginable. And finally...I wanted to say thank you to the author...for giving me inspiration...insight..hope...and understanding. This novel has been all this and more. Life in the Fat lane was great....hopefully someday....when another teenager reads it..they won't be able to understand the hurt and humilitaion Lara went through..and hopefully he/she wont understand why there was such hatred towards obese people and such insults towards them..hopefully someday.....
Rating: Summary: From a Male's view Review: Life in the Fat Lane. A book with a stuggle of accpetance among piers and of love. You see the main character have to do with a lot of emotional challenges as well as physical. As a male reading the book, you still can put yourself into the position of the main charcater. Personally, I could relate to a lot of her problems towards the end of the book. I find the supporting charcters are a perfect match for the book. The story has several interesting twists and turns and overall a really good read. I enjoyed reading the book.

Rating: Summary: What a relief! Review: My 9th grade students read this novel and for the first time in over 20 years, I had 4 classes in which nearly everyone enjoyed what we were studying. They were impressed by the reality of the situations and relationships! We had just finished Romeo and Juliet and they found numerous similarities between the two. Cherie Bennett reached some "reluctant readers" who might just read some more required novels!
