Summary: 1 Of greatest books i've ever read
Review: This is one of the greatest books I've ever read. I could not put it down, I read the 260 page novel in 1 day. It makes you think about life and how you should not treat people badly. It shows you how much it hurts that person. It also shows how no matter what you look like on the outside you are still yourself, although people may treat you differently.

Summary: A Wonderful, Insightful Book about Struggles with Weight
Review: This story will touch any young woman who feels trapped by her weight, or by the expectations our culture has placed upon her. Brutally honest and direct, it describes the struggles of a once popular and "perfect" girl who starts gaining weight and cannot stop.

Summary: a lovely and touching story
Review: A homecoming queen, most popular and best-looking girl in school- is later is given a diease that make her gain a large amount of weight. I really enjoyed the book and the plot. Its so touching and sad. I cried, was angry or smiled every other page in the story. Its so twisting, you want more and more. I love the fact that she later found she was loving herself... weight or no weight. I've given my book to many other friends to read and love themselves.

Summary: I couldn't stop reading this book!
Review: At first, by reading the Miss Teen Pride Of the South thing, I know it's silly, but I was sorta jealous of Lara even though she's just a made-up character for a book. She has (er, had ?) everything a girl would ever need or want--wonderful parents, a great boyfriend, cool friends, great looks, plus she's popular. It was really weird they way she gained more and more weight. It almost seemed impossible. I truly, truly, loved this book. It's incredibly inspirational. I told my mother about it twice. I'm getting a teeny-weensy worried about my weight. I'm a rising seventh grader and i'm 101 lbs. But, like how Lara said, "I wasn't perfect. But I was okay." Thanks, Cherie for writing this!!

Summary: One of the best books I have ever read
Review: I felt so bad for Lara throughout this book. First off she seems to have the perfect life with the perfect boyfriend, friends, and family. In the beginning I wished I was her. Then as she started to gain weight and everyone started to make fun of her. I loved the end when she relized that her life wasn't perfect to begin with. I hope they make a sequal! All teenage girls should read this book.

Summary: A novel that will change your impact on people and life.
Review: As a twelve-year-old eighth-grader who has never had a weight problem, I can't fully understand what Lara Ardeche, perfect homecoming queen turned overweight and confused, would be going through. Lara has always been the talk of the school. Before she was diagnosed with "Axell-Crowne Syndrome", she had the perfect parents, perfect boyfriend, perfect looks, perfect grades, perfect friends...everything that turned out to be not so perfect. After she was diagnosed with the syndrome and started gaining weight, she was still the talk of the school, but in a way which you cannot imagine, unless, of course, you read this novel. "Life In the Fat Lane" is not down to the tiniest detail unrealistic. The way students behave is perfectly described in this book, nothing more could be said. The language, thoughts, and worries of Lara and her peers all add up to make a fantastic novel...a novel that makes you think, makes you change your ways, and makes you never want to put it down again.

Summary: I thought it was a fabulous book!
Review: The book was so well written. The charecters were so well developed you felt like you knew them. I really enjoyed it and I would like to see a sequel.

Summary: This is truely inspiring.
Review: I love this book. It is well written and once you start you cant put it down. Cherie Bennett is a talented author with many great books. I really enjoyed this one. It was like, Lara thought that weight gain would never happen to her, and she would never have a problem being overweight. So she had to deal with the emotional along with the physical gain. Molly and Jett were so cool! They sound like friends i would love to have. This is truely inspiring. Keep writting, Cherie.~Kate

Summary: From a Teens Point of View
Review: i have just finished reading "Life in the Fat Lane". I thought that the way Lara deals with her family, diet, and new school and friends is very true to the real world. Some books are hard to get into, but once i started, i just couldn't put the book down. Good job Cherie!

Summary: Great book to read!!!
Review: I loved this book so much I told all my friends they had to read the book. They did and they thought it was really incredible. The book didn't have any unrealistic things in it and the best part that amazes me was when the author put in a clip from 20/20. I saw the exact same show and the book really makes you think it is reality and you're watching yourself as the character. This book should be highly recommended for high schools or even middle schools. I loved this book and I can't remember another great book like it.
