It just blew me away. Some of the concepts are so incredible that they have really stuck with me. I'm in 12th grade now and I am eager to but this book and re-read it, and give it to my little sisters to read because it was such a cool book.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Sleator's Best Review: If you like William Sleator's style, you really should get Interstellar Pig. I have read many of his books (Pig, Singulariy, Tycho, and I think I have read duplicate), and I think this is his best...but Tycho was close. The book is a bit thin, and its audience is definitely chilrenesque, so the quantity to price may be a bit small for your tastes, but other than it is a very creative work with a quite humurous end. The basic gist is that three young adults move into a house next to the main character and they play a _very_ interesting game....
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: A Great Adventure Review: In The Interstellar Pig, Barney, the main character is at a summer home when three persuasive and attractive young people move into the shack next to Barney's beach vacation house. For some reason, the people next door are very intrigued by Barney's vacation house. Barney figures out they are obsessed by their game, called Interstellar Pig. The point is to get and keep the Piggy on your planet; the planets that don't have it get blown up. He starts to think if the game is actually real. The book was a great book, although at times it was really confusing and hard to understand. It was still a really great book that was a book of adventure and valiant fun. This book will be a great book for kids who are into space and adventures.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME READING INTERSTELLAR PIG!!! Review: Interstellar Pig isn't the greatest book that I have read. It seemed really unreal with a lot of the stuff that was in the book. I know fictional books aren't supposed to be real, but I think Wiilliam Sleator really strecthed the meaning of fictional. I mean, it seemed as everything was made up right off hand and I didn't really think the book flowed very well. For example, at the beginning of the book it talked about this really historical house that the new neighbors that moved in next to it were really interested in the house. They always were over there, rooting through stuff in the house. I thought it was going to be a good mystery story about the hosue, and it turned out that they never talked about the book again in the story. After a few mind-teasing sentences, the book totally switched topics and started talking about some darn board game. So unless you enjoy wasting your time reading pointless books, I recommend that you don't read Interstellar Pig.

Morris P.5Barney and his parents are spending the summer in New Zealand. There's nothing to do for a 16 year old who has sensitive skin on a hot summer day. One day 3 strange neighbors move in to the cottage house next door. Barney sees them playing a board game one evening. The next day, he goes over and talks to them. Their names are Zena, Joe, and Manny. The game they play is called Interstellar Pig. They are basically obsessed with it. They eventually let Barney play it. The main idea is to have the "Piggy" when the timer runs out. Time wears on, with events happening throughout the days. Barney finds the real Piggy, not the one in the game. It talks to him through his mind. One night while playing the game, Barney finds out that the game is real. His three neighbors turn into the creatures that they were in the game. Barney gets chased all over his house. At the end, he gets the "neighbors" (aliens) to leave Earth. I liked this book because it was science fiction. It was different than most books because it contained weird things, for example, the Piggy. I also disliked this book because there was so much explaining going on about the game. It was hard to keep up with all the information. My least favorite part of the book was when Barney first played the game because the neighbor, Zena, (aka alien) had to tell him so much confusing information.

I read it in a record 2 and 1/2 hours. The story is paced at a very good speed and the plot is very interesting. The idea of the universe being a giant board game appealed to me very much. As I stated before, this is Sleator at his best.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: It was a good book. Review: It was an overall great book and was very interesting and had many facts and details about the galaxy and space.
