Rating: Summary: A great series Review: I thought this was an excellent book. John Marsden uses a unique way to describe his characters. I was especially shocked by the ending. I love the whole series and I can't wait to get more of his books.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely BRILLIANT!!! Review: I would just like to say, you've got one thing wrong, the fourth book in the Tommorow When The War Began series is not called 'The Killing Frost' it is in actual fact called, 'The Third Day, The Frost'. Why have has it been changed in the US? I think the original title is much better and it is how John Marsden would like it to be called. John Marsden is the most brilliant author to come out of Australia in years. His books, especially this series, are amazing. The characters become part of you, and they make you laugh and cry. It is must for every teenager around the world to read these books, it's a necessity. The only down side is that you never want them to finish, and when they do, you just want more and more. So a big thank you to John Marsden, of whom i have been lucky enough to meet on several occasions, and keep up the brilliant writing.
Rating: Summary: the book was amazing Review: I'm not going to tell you what this book is about; if you've read the story synopsis, you know that already. I just want to tell you to read this book. 'Heartbreaking' is the only word I can find to describe it. By the end of the book you know the characters so well that you feel you've lived the war along with them. This isn't a typical war novel, bathed in heroics and glory. This is war, and this is a group of teenagers caught in the middle of it. This could be real life. When I finished A Killing Frost, I was crying. And I don't cry easily. If you read nothing else this year, read this book. It will stay with you for a very long time.
Rating: Summary: One of my all time favourite series Review: I've been reading John Marsdens books for 3 or 4 years now. I just can't get enough. I read this series over and over again, normally a couple of times each year. I can't wait for the 7th book to come out later this year. I have not ever come across such well written books that reach out and emotionally involve the reader in such a way. I've had the pleasure of meeting John Marsden in person, and it was an expericence that I will never forget. At that time I had all the books in the series thus far and after he talked to hundreds of students who filled a lecture hall, myself among these priviliged students, he personally signed autographs and books (I had 5 books and he signed them all, each with an individual comment and my name) for anyone who wanted them. He is a truely wonderful man who has an amazing tallent. I recommend to everyone that they read his work.
Rating: Summary: It will have to be the best!!!! Review: If it is anything like the rest of the series this book will be unputdownable!!!You will love it!
Rating: Summary: These books are amazing Review: John Marsden has a fantastic knack of getting inside the mind of his characters and making them amazingly believable. I would like to know, is this the supposed 4th book in the Tommorrow when the War Began series because, if so, it is already published and titled The Third Day, The Frost. Just wondering. ?
Rating: Summary: Great youth book for young and old Review: John Marsden has done a great job in capturing my attention in all three books about the Australion kids on there adventure. I can't seem to find the other booksin the series.
Rating: Summary: Outstandinly amazing!!! Five stars -- ***** Review: John Marsden is an amazing writer. Nobody can compare to him and his technique. How does put his feet into a eighteen year-old girl's shoes, and feel her emotions? He is one of the best children's writers around. We need more of his books in the US!
Rating: Summary: Good Stuff Review: John Marsden is the best Austrailian author that I have ever read. Very cool, but there are more in this series. I would recommend you order them from Austrailia because you can't get em here.
Rating: Summary: This book is....AMAZING Review: Just as good and better than the first two in the series. The way Ellie describes herself, her friends, her emotions and all she goes through is amazing. She is short, to the point and doesn't sugar-coat anything. Her character is extremely well-written and and although she is the main person in the book series, she is not perfect or better than her friends. A totally strait-forward book, it describes the hardships of war from the pointof a teenager stuck in the middle of it. And, unlike most books, everyhting doesn't always turn out okay, as in life, but everyone grows stronger from it.
