Summary: One of those books you canNOT put down
Review: I really loved this book. I couldn't stop reading it, even during school (which caused some problems). For some reason I am very interested in books about these types of situations, and this is exactly the book I love to stumble on. My only regret is that there aren't any other books by this author for me to delve into. Please read, you will love it.

Summary: an amazing book
Review: I remember when looking for a good book in the library with my friend, and I picked out this book because the cover looked cool we kind of thought the title seemed weird and then I decided to read it.

I loved this book, it was beautifully written. It's like you, the reader are able to feel the pain and stress that Katherine is going through and you wonder if you were in her situation how would you be able to handle it?

I loved this book because it was very different from other books I have read and once i started reading it i could not put it down i definately give it a 5/5!

Summary: A Door Near Here Review
Review: I think "A Door Near Here" was a great book. I really don't get into reading books but when I started reading "A Door Near Here" I was blown away. The way that Heather Quarles writes is just amazing. The way that all of the kids have to all survive and there journey to keep there mothers drunken state a secret and not to make it any worse and trying not to let the DSS find out about what happened to them and in the end it all works out is just an award winning book no dought. I would recomend you to turn off your T.V and get off your butt and pick up "A Door Near Here" and start reading.

Summary: i can relate...
Review: I thought the book was very good, it had alot of detail and the story never got dull or boring. the plot always kept me turning pages and I couldnt help but wonder what was in the upcoming chapter so I read it quickly. The end of the book is somewhat shocking but, than again true to the story. I give the book 5 stars, for intrigue, drama , and true life honesty.

Summary: The Story of a Lifetime!
Review: If realistic and adventurous is the kind of book you like to read look no more! A Door Near Here is a very gripping and intriguing story. Heather Quarles writes the tragic story of fifteen-year-old Katherine Graham and her three siblings. When Katherine's single, alcoholic mother gets fired and stays in bed for weeks, Katherine is left to care for herself and three siblings. They are running out of food, money, and lies to tell. Katherine's eight-year-old sister, Alisa, is losing even the thought of reality. She seems to think that the hidden door to the imaginary land of Narnia is within her reach. She believes that Aslan ruler of Narnia can help her and her mother. Katherine, her brother, Douglas, and sister, Tracey, struggle to keep Alisa and themselves in a world of normality. It's the story of a lifetime. Heather Quarles brings these five characters to life in a way that's so realistic you'll want to read more and more. This wonderfully written story will keep you on the edge of your seat. This book is at the top of my list of favorite books. I would highly recommend this book to many others.

Summary: A Door Near Here
Review: It is such a wonderful book. I think Heather Quarles is an amazing writer. She adds many descriptive details. It is very interesting. I barely could put the book down. I have been rushing through my homework just to read another chapter of the book! Its heartbreaking, and incredible. Just putting myself as Katherine. I know it was a difficult job taking care of her siblings while her mother is a drunk alcoholic sleeping in bed. I recommend this book to anyone 12 or older. They needed food, and at the same time keep a secret.

Summary: a door near here
Review: The book a door near here is an incredible and amazing book. That tells you about three teenagers and their little half sister they are trying to survive in their life as all happens so fast. They get in a time that they are forced to machure from kids to adults. Their mother is an alcoholic and doesn't get out of bed for months, sometimes they don't even know if she's still alive. They start running out of money and food. All these starts when they cant get help because they don't want to be taken by social services because they would go with there dad but her half sister Alisa will be taken to a foster home and they could not stand seeing her there.
They start lying to there teachers, friend, and even to their only family their dad. This book is talks about the love and the struggles and how they start and make decisions that are important for their survival. The characters are Katherine - a 10th grader the oldest who takes over the house and starts making decisions, Douglas - a 9th grader who helps with the ideas and has few friends, Tracey - a girl who is popular but starts to loose friends because of her knew and more mature attitude and Alisa- a half sister who is affected and thinks there is a door to Narnia and that aslant the king will cure her mom. She gets expelled from school because she has run away into the woods saying she has seen the door.
In my opinion the book was awesome I would totally read it again if I had to, and recommend theist book because it's a total turn pager. You feel the time they went though it is a great book.
