Summary: The title says it all "The Awakening"
Review: If you're in to the paranormal and so forth then definately start reading this book and others by L.J. Smith. When I first encountered this series I had gotten the second book, The Struggle, and had ended up reading the whole series backwards, but ya know, I loved it all the more. It's not a nightmarish book, it's decent. Well worth the read. My whole family reads them!! Because of me, obviously.

Summary: Pleased with the series...
Review: The first books I read by L.J. Smith were of the Secret Circle series. I fell in love with those books instantly. A few weeks ago, I read the Vampire Diaries. While I haven't enjoyed the books as much, I still think they're definitely worth the read. I've yet to be disappointed with Smith's work and the Vampire Diaries isn't a letdown in any sense of the word. After Book I, the story really takes off. Book III is a tearjerker so you've been warned. :) All in all, any fan of Smith should check out the series.

Summary: Predictable
Review: Vampire Diaries is okay and has a really electric atmosphere but it is seriously predictable. It's just the same forum over and over again. Beautiful girl torn betwen one sickeningly good guy and one totally evil one. Why have all L.J. Smith's heroines got to be so drop-dead gorgeous? Why can't we have a NORMAL looking heroine for a change instead of some super-model?

Summary: A divine inspiration
Review: The Vampire Diaries series awakened desires in me I didn't know I had. I am 18 years old and I first began these books before I as much as started junior high. Every summer I go over these four books again and again. . . and every time something sparks a light inside. . . how cliche, I know, but it's true. I have loved to write since I first learned how to make the letter "a," but The Vampire Diaries made me really desire writing, made me want to keep going. LJ Smith is one of the greatest young adult writers and I hope that she can inspire others the way she did me. If you're looking for a good book, a good series, I beg you to read these! You won't be unsatisfied. Trust me.

Summary: I love this series
Review: This is the series that started my whole LJ Smith trip. Since I've read The Awakening, I've read all her other books (Night World, Dark Visions, Forbidden Games, Secret Circle). I've read these 4 books, I've had to read them over again. Since I read them for the fourth time, and my sister wanted something to read, I let her borrow the first book. Normally she's not into the whole love thing (but she likes vampires and stuff like that)but so far she's loving them. She's on the third book (The Fury). I finished one of them in 2 and a half hours. I couldn't put it down. It's a must read.

Summary: A Heart Grabber!
Review: I have read the Vampire Diaries so many times I can no longer keep count. This series has so many twists and turns its hard to put down. Lisa Jane Smith makes you love the good and the bad and youre torn between which you wish to win. Everyone has a dark side and a secret and you'll love finding out what they are. You wont regret reading it.

Review: If write this word it's because I want to say to you thatnobody is better than Lisa Jane Smith for to speak about vampires. Shedoesn't talk about horror but she built a story who can to do dream the young's people. Summary: Vampire Diaries
Review: I was at the public library that my aunt accompanied me to...while looking through the horror section (prefferably R.L.Stine) I came across L.J. Smith the 'Vampire Diaries' Since I find vampires amusing I borrowed the first book in the series, The Awakening. I read it for 2 nights and I soon finished. I really liked it. And I am looking forward to go to the library and borrow the other 3 books in this marvelous series... I assure you that you wont regret reading, for this i can say cuz ive read it but as for the other 3 i have a pretty good feeling that they'll be good... i swear once you start reading this book it will be hard to put away! I also reccommend the DARK ANGEL, GATHERING OF GARGOYLES, & THE PEARL OF THE SOUL OF THE WORLD, trilogy by Meridith Ann Pierce, i am sure u will love those books as much as i did! -$arah H.

Summary: An intoxicating saga!
Review: Okay, I first want to mention that I am a huge vampire fan. So when I saw this book in one of the NY public libraries I just had to read it. I had already read LJS's "Dark Visions" trilogy and loved the story of Kait's visions and Gabriels's dark personality. Gabriel's character kind of reminds me of Damon's character in the "Vampire Diaries" series only Damon doesn't have someone "special" to put him in his place. It became so intense that when I was reading the "Vampire Diaries" Vol. 1 it felt as if the words were no longer words but instead pictures of what was happening - this occurs in all of LJS's books because they are written so superbly. I couldn't put it down. You might think this book sounds like just another story about another unrealistic immortal romance that's not worth your time but it is so worth it. Despite the flaws the characters may have you grow attached to them - to Bonnie's fearful psychic powers, to Meridith's mysterious, closed off personality, even to Elena's self-absored beauty. You grow as they grow. It's always cool when you piece together the clues before the characters do and then woder if you were accurate as the story progresses. I thought this was a trilogy until, at the back of the 3rd book, I found out that a 4th book existed. I couldn't find it anywhere! After three years of searching, I finally found it on Amazon.com ... I just had to get it. No matter the cost, I was left in that much suspense. You know what? It was so worth it! The 4th one was the BEST! I literally read it in a matter of about 3 hours, only putting it down to wipe tears away. It was that intense. I felt as if the things were really happening to me. To sum this all up I have to say that the whole series took me to a whole new world. Damon is this gorgeous & powerful vampire whom Elena can't resist. Stefan is the type of vamp that keeps everything inside & fights his nature with the kind of sensitivity & beauty no girl can resist. I think LJS blends characters from one trilogy into another one to make a new identity. Like, Matt is similar to Adam, in the "Secret Circle" trilogy & Elena is similar to Jenny on the "Forbidden Game" trilogy. So my suggestion = don't just read this book, but buy it before it goes out of stock again. And I totally agree with the other reviewers who say that this should become a larger series. IT ROCKED!

Summary: Words Can Not Explain This Book
Review: The Vapire Dairies and the Sercet Circle are the best books that I have read in a long time. I fell in love with both Stefen and Damon. This book just takes you to a different world and it makes you not want to come back. I won't talk about what happens but lets just say it has a suprize ending.
