Summary: (...) Great and Magnificent Review
Review: My feelings on this book can be summed up into one word; disappointing. Throughout the story the excitement builds and builds for something great to happen, but towards the end the book the story takes a enormously horrendus fall. I feel that the ending is an inslt to the story. I was very into the story till about the 3/4's mark, then I had to force myself to read the rest. I'm dissapointed that I had. So I suggest you go buy the book read 3/4's of it, rate it, read the rest, and rate it again. More than likely, I'll bet you'll be disappointed.

Review: The book The Contender is a catching and motivational story. It is about an African American boy who grows up in Harlem, New York. He has a hard life in an impoverished area. A lot of things go wrong for him, so he decides he wants to do something important with his life. That is when he gets involved with boxing. Boxing and his mentors, Donetelli, Spoon, and Henry, teach him how to succeed in life. He also learns how to try hard and work for what he believes in. This book is inspirational and keeps the reader interested with the main character's life.

Review: I would recomend you to read this book, The Contender, by Robert Lypstyle. Because , I liked this book so much. This book is about a man named Alfred, and he tries and trains to be a contender, in the boxing. Alfred almost quit the boxing but he reconsider and continues the boxing. I like this book and Alfred because, he tries to go the good ways of the life and at last he won the fight! I think he is a great guy.
I would suggest that most of the teens and adult should read this book, because you can know that if you try hard, you can accomplish your dream.

Summary: The Contender
Review: I would recommend this book to someone. The only part I didn't like was the end. It left you hanging and wanting to know what happened.
The book sounded so real, like you were right there watching everthing happen. Alferd worked at a goal and succeed. He learned how to work hard and never give up.He helped Henry forget about his leg, he helped james to the hospital, and he showed himself he could do anything that he put his mind to. This was over all a good book.

Summary: The Contendr
Review: I didn't care much for the book, because I don't like to read. Also another reason why I didn't like it was because I do not like boxing all that much, but the reason why I rated this book a whole whopping one star is because Alfred gets in fights with other people. But I would not request this book to anyone because there are only a few good parts, and the ending really stinks.

Summary: The Contender
Review: I found this book hard to keep up with. The first half of the book was really boring and it only stated to get good at the end. My favorite charactor was Jelly Belly, he was interesting and and a sense of humor. If someone was feeling bad he would always have a way of making them feel better or if someone was making fun of another person he would stick up for them even if he din't know the person.

Summary: The Contender
Review: I thought the book,The Contender, was a fun a fun book to read in your spare time. I liked the beginning part because I thought it would be funny to see the faces on Major's face when he heard that Alfred was training to be a chapion of the world. But after awhile in his training he quits boxing because Mr. Donatelli tells him he doesn't have the "killer instinct". Also he felt bad for the other person. I think you should read the book,The Contender, because it shows someone who dropped out of school do something good with his life.

Summary: The Contender
Review: I thought the book was okay. I liked the dramatization. The book was a little boring in the beginning but it got better in the end. I would summarize it as a boy with courage who stood up for himself. I would reccomend it to anyone who likes drama and sad stories. Alfred was willing to become a boxer but he quit. Because Donatelli his boxing manager tells him he doesn't have "killer instinct". James was Alfreds friend but he started using drugs badly. In the end James and Alfred become best friends.
