A girl named Regina and her sister Barbara were captured by three Allegheny Indians. After about one month of traveling Regina and Barbara were separated. Regina had to go with the Indian, Tiger Claw. They finally came to his village where she stayed for 10 years. The woman who took her in was, Woelfin, Tiger Claw's mother. At first Woelfin was mean and beat her up whenever she spoke the white man's tongue. Regina became friends with an Indian woman called Nonchetto. They spent a lot of time together. Regina's new Indian name was Tskinnak. There was a small white child that was kidnapped, too. Regina became like a mother to her. Review: Title: I Am Regina Reviewed By: Chris Pyo & Scott Rudolph Rating: 10 Category: Historical Fiction Author: Sally M. Keehn We read this book and we want to review it. We rate this book a 10 because it was an action-packed drama. The book was really great because of the plot. The plot was based on a true story. It showed a good view of both sides, the Indians and the white men. We saw why they both had so much hatred for eachother. If we were the author we would have changed one thing. Instead of the white men just taking Regina back with them, she would have had a choice to stay with the Indians or to go with them. We would have liked her to choose to stay with the Indians because she felt that they were now her family. Read this book because once you pick it up, you can't put it down!

Review: Title:I Am Regina Author:Sally M. Keehn Reviewed By: Veronica Rossi and Alexis Umowski Rating:9 Category:Historical Fiction We read this book and we want to review it. This story is mainly about a girl named Regina getting captured by the Allegheny Indians. When she was captured she had to walk on a long journey to her new home in an Indian village. Regina begins her new life with an Indian woman named Woelfin who shelters her as her daughter. Nonschetto became a friend to Regina and gave her one of the puppies her dog had. Regina named the puppy Tummaa. We think the author did a good job because she made us realize how it felt to be an Indian during that time through the main character, Regina. The white men were bad because they stole the Indians land. The white men thought the Indians were savages. If we had to change one part it would be when Woelfin and Tummaa ran in to the woods. We would change it by saying that Woelfin and Tummaa ran into the woods and then found their Indian tribe and lived there. We liked the way the author handled the climax. It was so exciting at the end when Regina got reunited with her mother!

Summary: We think this is a great historical fiction book.
Review: We liked the the characters and the writing style. One reason was that we liked the characters because they were brave and stood up for themselves. We also liked the writing style because Regina was telling the story. We also liked the story because it told both sides of the issue. The sides of the issue are: white man dont like the indians because the indians stole there land. And the Indiands dont like the white man because they stole there children. We wouldnt fix anything we would add more about the book. Summary: ¿Best book ever¿
Review: We read the book "I Am Regina" with our class. We thought it was the best book ever. When the Indians captured Regina and Barbara and then killed Christian, their brother and their Father, we were mad at the Indians. We felt sorry for Regina who had to carry, Sarah, a little captive on a long journey. Then the Indians separated Regina from her sister. Regina's Indian name was Tskinnak and Sarah's was Quetit. As the girls lived with the Indians longer and longer we started to change our minds. We became mad at the white man. We were so happy for Quetit and Tskinnak at the end but you will have to read the book to find out why!

Summary: Alone...yet not alone am I!
Review: When I was in 7th grade, for my reading class, I had to read a Texas Blue Bonnet book (it is a list of books that children read and then are tested on over the computer) every six weeks. The last 6 weeks of the year I picked up I am Regina I only had one week to read it before all books had to be turned in to the library...I got half way there the book then it was due...I never got to finish it. I would ask the library if they had this book they would say there is not book by that name...one day i asked, "Do you have any blue bonnet books?", "Yes, they are over there." Still no luck. To my surprise as I did a key word search I was calling the book i longed to finish by an incorrect name (My name is Rebecca; don't ask I have no clue where I came up with that one!) I checked out the book and finally read all of it... IT IS AS WONDERFUL AS I REMEMBERED IT TO BE...all i can say is...READ IT READ IT READ IT!
