Rating: Summary: Something Upstairs Review: If you like mystery and excitment in a book Something Upstairs is right for you! It is about a boy named Kenny and a ghost named Caleb.Kenny used to live in California, but then moved to Rhode Island with his family. The house they move into is very old and creepy.Kenny gets his room in the attic. In the attic there are two secret rooms in the wall. The first night Kenny heard strange sounds coming from the rooms.Kenny gets out of bed and goes into the room and finds a ghost coming out of the floor. After several meetings with him Kenny finds out that his name is Caleb.Caleb was murdered in the first room.Kenny was intrested in Caleb and went to the historical library and finds an article in a newspaper. He finds out that Caleb wasn't murdered, it said that Caleb locked himself in and commited suicide. But according to Caleb it was a lie.Want to find out what happen?Check out the book.....you won't be dissapointed.
Rating: Summary: not much of a plot Review: if you read the intericate plot of avi's true confession's of charlotte doyle, i guarantee that you will be dissappointed. it is a very short book, so would be great if ya needed to read a quick book for something. the end is kinda predictable, as far as what kenny does, but the historian guy has a twist on him. the epilogue part at the end also has a nice little twist.
Rating: Summary: A Fascinating Story! Review: In Something Upstairs, Caleb and Kenny have been going through many things in each chapter. Anxiously, they have met some strange and unusual characters. This book was mostly about a young boy who woke up in the middle of the night and found a hand reaching to a bookcase in his attic room. Although they've gotten into disagreements, Kenny and Caleb always find better ways to get through them. They've also had breakthroughs. Throughout the story, they have gauged each other and scrutinized one another to see if they could trust each other. These two characters go a long way from starting point to ending point, together. I would recommend this book to preteens and older because it shows some difficult vocabulary and scary parts. Another reason is when you read it, you're so anxious to get to the next part you can't even wait.
Rating: Summary: something upstairs Review: Ir you like muders you will like this book. Its about a boy named kenny who finds a ghost named caleb. He helps him find his murder by going back in time.
Rating: Summary: Very spooky book! Review: It's one of the best books ever! I can't put it down. The book is even suppose to be true.
Rating: Summary: Something Upstairs by Avi Review: Memories and unfound answers brought Caleb, a ghost of a boy slave back into the present for help. Looking back into the past and finding the truth of this mysterious murder of a slave boy, Caleb. Kenny, the new boy who moved into the house is on a mission to travel back into the past and help find the murderer who killed Caleb, so Caleb could be freed from the house and from the present world. Read and find out more in depth about what happens. Once you start reading it, it'll take you as long as it needs to finish without stopping. So sit back and enjoy this book.
Rating: Summary: A GHOST FINDERS BOOK Review: My book takes place in the Providence of Rhode Island. The main charactors are Caleb( the ghost ) KENNY (the boy) FATHER ( the dad ) MOTHER(the mom ) My book is about a boy and his family that just moved in with a ghost named Caleb. Caleb was a slave that was killed in his sleep. By a person that he knew in his time. kenny was sleeping and he heard a noise that startled him. He soon found that it was a ghost that woke him. when he saw it he freaked out and was scared stiff. He said "who are you". then the ghost replied in very faint words "salve". Kenny soon got enough mental strenth to ask " how did you die. And what is your name" the ghost said "i was murderd . And my name is Caleb".Soon Kenny learned to acceped him as a friend. After a little while kenny got a little scared of him when he told his story. Kenny thought "maybe i should help him".
Rating: Summary: loved it then, love it now Review: my friend told me to get this book when i was in 5th grade (3 years ago). if you are an adult, i doubt you'd like this because its kind of "kiddish"... yet it has one of the best and unexpected endings to a book i have ever read, and i am an avid reader! highly recomended for anyone under 14 or 15.
Rating: Summary: My opinion of this book Review: My opinion of this book was it was good because there was a lot of action and somethings happened even though you wouldn't suspect it to happen. Like when Caleb shot the man from the mob Even though this book starts kinda boring, it sure doesn't end boring, not at all. This book is about a boy name Kenny that decides to help the ghost haunting his house. Kenny finds himself in a great adventure, traveling through time and witnessing things that most people would not witness in real life. I would recommend this book to everyone that loves adventures.
Rating: Summary: something Upstairs Review: Recommendation I recommend this book to read for the ages 10 -13. This book tack place in the 1800 and 1990. This book has a lot of feelings "Kenny had the sense to understand the danger. What if he couldn't get himself in the present?" The story has a good discussion of the death. The boy found his room with the door locked. "Authorities can provide no knowledge of the events and surmise in consideration of the fact that since the door was locked from the inside, the boy took was own life". So if you like a good book, read this book. It this book was a lot of good description.
