Rating: Summary: Night Hoops by Carl Deuker, is an awesome book! Review: 'Night Hoops' by Carl Deuker is an awesome book! This is the kind of book that you don't want to put down and you find that you are reading late into the night, which I did a couple of times! I like this book for many reasons, not just because I like sports and books bout sports, but how it related to me and many other people in the world. This book taught me that just because someone may look bad, live in a dirty house or neighborhood, or just be plain old mean, doesn't mean you have to hate him/her, but that you could become friends with him/her. I liked the way that Nick Abbot and Trent Dawson became friends; it was a very different way of becoming friends. At a glance, Nick and Trent may not seem to have much in common, but if you look closer at their lives, it becomes obvious that they are going through pretty much the same thing, family problems. Nick's parents are divorced and Trent's single mom constantly has a different boyfriend and a brother that is constantly in trouble with the law. To sum it up this book is about two high school sophomores, their passion for basketball and their life problems.
Rating: Summary: All About B-Ball Review: A Review by Sean At first it seems like Nick Abbott and Trent Dawson have nothing in common, but throughout this book and their basketball season they must face problems together and find out what true friendship is. This book has many twists and turns in it and it always gives you chances to use your imagination. This book also shows how much a sport can really and unexpectedly change your life. Through out this book you can relate your own life with the story. One thing that really made this book enjoyable for me to read was its pace. Because in this book there is never a dull moment, and there are so many things in this book that could very easily happen to me or anyone else in the world. Another thing I really liked is the fact that the book makes you think. For example you could read this book and while events are happening in this book, it makes you think of events that are happening in your own life. And the final thing that I liked is how everything in this book is related to basketball in someway. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading about sports and to any one that enjoys seeing how sports can make a huge difference in your life.
Rating: Summary: a greAt get Away Review: Although at a glance, Nick Abbott and Trent Dawson may not seem to have anything in common, but taking a deeper look into their lives, it becomes obvious that they are in fact going through similar problems in their lives. They're having family problems. With Nick's parents having just split up and divorced, and Trent living with his single mother, her constant change of boyfriends, and always getting in trouble with his brother, they both soon find that basketball allows them a break from their lives, a leeway from their problems. Shortly after they make the varsity basketball team, the two develop a close friendship and help each other to figure out their lives. I really enjoyed this book, and feel that it is appropriate for all ages. I finished it in one sitting! This story portrays the human spirit. How even when life becomes devastating, there is still hope, and as long as you don't give up and believe in yourself, things will become clear again. Reading Night Hoops left me feeling satisfied yet wanting more at the same time. This is the first Carl Deuker book that I've read, and after reading this, I am definitely going to read his other books!
Rating: Summary: I say it is a great and exiting book Review: As you enter the book of Night Hoops you will forget all other books you have read in the the past. As you step into Nick Abbott's life it goes beyond the game of basketball. It is the good moments and the bad for Nick and his friend like Luke. This mostly takes place on and of the at Nick's house in Seattle Org. where all of Nick's friends come to play, because he does have the best court there. This book also has its share of of diobolic characters such as the Dawsons pertaining to to Zack and Trent that live right nextdoor to Nick, his mom and his older brother Scott. Nick fights through having divorced parents and almost never gets to see his Dad anymore, which is hard for Nick to do because his Dad is allso in love with the game of basketball and he taught him the way to play the game. When Trent and Nick were playing basketball at Nick's house one day and Zack called Trent over to show him something that was in his pocket but Nick could't see before Zack ran off.I won't tell you what was in Zack's pocket or any other details in this very powerfull book I hope you are going to find out on your own.
Rating: Summary: Awesomest Book Review: Basketball, Passion and friendship is what this book is about. Nick Abbott is your average basketball loving 9th grader who decides to try out for the varsity team at Bothell High School. But just like the game, Nick's life has some twists and tuns, some low points and high ones. How will he handle the neighborhood bullies, Trent Dawson and his crazy brother Zack? And what about his father and his trumpet loving older brother? MOST important, what about the part that decides his future, the tryouts? This book kept pulling me in, and I wanted more. Nick's life revolves around basketball, but with it come some unexpected surprises, that make you love Nick and his world even more. From a girl's view, this book deserves five stars, and I think that a guy who loves, or even doesn't love basketball, would really like this book.

Rating: Summary: Night Hoops Review: I liked the book alot because it was a book that I had intrest in,and some books are hard to read, but this one was easy to read. One reason I liked the book was because was about my favorite sport. The second reason I liked it was because it invovled helping someone in need to find life and find something that they really like to do and not do something everyone else wants them to do.The third reason I liked the book is because it was very touching because a boy was trying his hardest to make his dream come true. The best part if the book was when they were striving to help someone find the thing that they wanted to do and not take advantage of them and force them to do something they don't want to do.The worst part of the book was when everyday there parents would fight and they would always worry that they were hurting the boys doing what they were doing. The climax was when there dad got tired of being yelled at for everything he did so he left them and got a divorce with there mom, and he almost never got to see his sons again. The conflict is that his brother wouldn't try to work hader at the sport he loved and he always complains about how he is to good to practice.
Rating: Summary: Night Hoops Book Review Review: I think that the book Night Hoops by Carl Deuker is an outstanding book! This Book was very captivating, and kept me up until 2 A.M reading. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. This book is great for anyone to read who is 12 and over. . This book is about two ninth grade boys named Nick Abbott and Trent Dawson. They are on the same basketball team. It is about their love for basketball and their problems in life. Both of the boys are going through hard times. For example, Nick's parents are divorced and Trent and his older brother is in trouble very often. Also Trent's mom seems to have a new boyfriend all the time. The fact that Trent and Nick became friends was very odd. Trent and Nick were very different because Trent was a bad kid and nick was good. However their love of basketball brought them together. It was their friendship and the game that got them through tough times together. I think Carl Deuker is trying to teach the value of friendship and teamwork with this book. I thought that this book was excellent, it is Especially interesting to people who like sports books of any kind and I highly recommend it to anyone.
