Review: I must say that this book is oulful and endearing. I find it so great to read such honesty in poetry and I also think that ms. giovanni remains one of my favorite poets for her honesty!

Summary: Giovanni's "Love Poems" a Hit
Review: I thouroughly enjoyed this copulation of works by Giovanni. I had the pleasure of reading earlier offerings by her and was pleased with her style and grace. To enjoy her is to understand where she has come from and where she is going. A strong voice of today as well as in the 60's, and keeps on getting stronger. Reading this makes you want to write your own love poems, in your way and in your own style. Giovanni brings out what we thought we have either lost or forgotten about either relationships past or present, and takes us on a journey into a world she doesn't always takes us, a more private, intimate world. Though I KNOW she had reserved a lot of the more intense feelings that I hope she may share with us all,..one day.

Review: Nikki Giovanni's Love Poems are exciting, intriguing, and she really isn't afraid to express her thoughts. I absolutely loved it.

Review: Nikki writes this book at a time when Black Americans need to re-learn about love. Love for self, love for each other and love for community. I was on fire after reading the poem dedicated to my brother Tupac Shakur...it was a tribute to all the young black men and women we are losing to senseless violence everyday

Review: This is the first book, albeit poems, essays, novels, etc., that has truly captured the essence of love, sexuality,sensuality, passion and intimacy ever. Makes a perfect get for a husband, boyfriend, wife, girlfriend, whatever...highlight a poem and dedicate it to that person...you just can't go wrong with this one! Bravo and all that good stuff Ms. Giovanni!
