Rating: Summary: Really good story, I couldn't put it down. Review: This is not one of Sparks best books. The Notebook is better than this. But it's a nice read, one that will make you want to look towards the back to find out how it ends up. I think perhaps Sparks should consider exploring his characters a little more. Maybe he could've discussed Jamie's mother more or Landons Congressman father. I don't know....it's a fun read but it's missing something.
Rating: Summary: Beautiful but predictable Review: I read Nicholas Sparks book "Message in a Bottle" on my flight from Maine to California last April and by the time I reached San Diego I was in tears. I just recently bought his two other books and decided to read "A Walk to Remember" first. I felt that it was an incredible story of young love with a touch of sadness. Losing a love you've just realized, how sad! I wanted the story to continue (it was too short!). I must admit though, that I knew where the story was going rather quickly and that was a major disappointment however the storyline was so touching that it didn't matter. I finished it in a few hours and was not sorry I read it. I can't wait to start "The Notebook" and see if I'll cry to this one as well. P.S. I'm so disappointed that "Message in a Bottle" was supposedly to have taken in place in North Carolina. It was filmed in Maine and the beauty of this place went understated!
Rating: Summary: Sparks produces another tear-jerker Review: He's done it again. This one is much shorter than his previous two novels but nonetheless just as effective in his emotion-wrenching style. It took one sitting to read this, always wondering where he's going with it. The ending will surprise you and go directly to the heart of your emotions.
Rating: Summary: Thouroghly dissapointing attempt by Sparks Review: I was really looking forward to reading Nicholas Sparks's latest novel but was very disappointed and would NOT recommend this unless you really want to read a sappy, predictable love story. I was truly disappointed in his latest effort. However if you have not read his first novel, The Notebook- definitely read it, a wonderful, beautiful story. Unfortunately he seems to think he has a winning formula and just needs to turn up the sap factor in "A Walk to Remember". This is set in North Carolina in the 1950s and is a love story between two high school students, he is the popular bot, son of a Congressman and she is the bible carrying preacher's daughter. Sound nauseating already? Good then I won't bother to continue. Don't waste your time.
Rating: Summary: Very, very, heartwarming story! Review: Bravo Nicholas Sparks! This was a very sweet and moving story that captured my heart and had me reading from beginning to end without putting it down. A book like this, makes you appreciate the ones you love and leaves you wishing that the story HADN'T ended. Now, when do we get a movie?
Rating: Summary: Must read! Every teenage kid should also read this book! Review: I loved this book and I can't wait for more of his books. I am not a reader, but finished it in 4 hours. Please take time to share this with your kids. Being here in Littleton, it is a lesson that we all should take to heart.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Story Review: I was born in the 70's, and this book was a great one. It will be on my shelf for a long time. How could one be disappointed after reading this? How shallow and heartless! Where is their sense of caring, giving and of course love? Life isn't etched in stone as we all know. One may need to read it again if disappointment was the feeling the first time. Think about your first love then maybe reality will set in...Mr. Sparks, keep up the good work. I am a loyal reader after this one!
Rating: Summary: Couldn't Put It Down! Review: Once again, Nicholas Sparks has won me over! The first book that I read of his, "Message In A Bottle" was just fantastic and this book, "A Walk To Remember" is just as good. Gives you that warm, loving feeling. Lots of romance! I can't wait to receive my copy of "The Notebook". Way to go Nicholas!
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down! Review: I reccommend this book to anyone! This book is both touching and humorous at times. I didn't think it was predictable at all. I couldn't put it down. I had to swallow past the lump in my throat when I got to the end. The story really makes you think about others that are different than you, and respect them. This was a great book, and I'm glad I bought it.
Rating: Summary: beautiful and heart warming Review: As a regular Sparks reader, I think Sparks is at his best in this book. It is easily read, heart warming and extremely beautiful. I will hardly wait for his next work. Mr. Sparks, please keep up the good work!
