Rating: Summary: A bit disappointing Review: Overall, I liked this book. However, I felt like it was too brief. Some things could have be developed a little more thoroughly. I liked that it was a "light" sadness, not a depressive story. It takes only a few hours!
Rating: Summary: You Won't Be Able to Put this Book Down! Review: I have read all of Nicholas Sparks' books. Although I have enjoyed all of them, this one was by far the best. I could not put this book down. You'll cry, laugh and cry somemore. It was a beautifully written story about first love, growing up, and learning to see the good qualities in people even if they may seem a bit different. I LOVED IT! I highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: An easy read Review: A great beach book. If you've got a couple hours, read it. Sparks touches all the emotions, just like always.
Rating: Summary: Brilliant and Amazing! Review: IT looks like Nicholas Sparks has done it again. A truly amazing love story that makes you wonder if the are people in the world that really feel like this. The emotions that the main characters go though to realize their true love feels so real. A must read!
Rating: Summary: Nicholas Sparks has done it again, even better this time Review: This book is the best yet written by Nicholas Sparks. It plays with your emotions....makes you laugh, then makes you cry. All the while, keeps you smiling. This is by all means the best book I've read.
Rating: Summary: Captivating. A wonderful way to spend a few hours Review: It was 10:30pm as I started to read this book, and got to Chapter 3 before I nodded off. Instinctively, I found myself awake as the sun came up to finish reading about Jamie and Landon. I didn't even want to leave my bed to find a tissue so my pajama sleeves were soaked! I thoroughly enjoyed Nicholas Sparks' other 2 books and am grateful I requested this one for my birthday! I was so moved by the tenderness and geniune feelings between the main characters. Some reviewers call it sappy? Well, keep bringing it on Mr. Sparks. I'll always be in line to buy your books. Thanks for a great morning!
Rating: Summary: A Walk To Remember Review: It is so nice to know that there are still areas in the heart not so jaded that they cannot be reached by innocent joy and sorrow. There are still stories that find those areas in the heart. There are still some writers who know how to reach into the depths of the reader and find the soul. Nicholas Sparks is one of those writers. A Walk to Remember is one of those stories. What a perfect gift for Christmas! Thank you Mr. Sparks!
Rating: Summary: Simply beautiful. Review: Yes, I am a hopeless romantic, and yes, I take great comfort in believing in the power of true love in the world, so if this makes me a sap, then I'm proud of it! I have now read all three of Mr. Sparks' books and have enjoyed them immensely. Will they be considered great literature? Probably not. But they are completely believable and engaging, and appropriate for all readers. They have a wonderful way of transporting you right into the story. You are hooked right from the get go. Yes, they're easy and quick to read, and somewhat predictable, but so what? I've found great life lessons on billboards and posters and calendars so I've never been prejudiced into feeling that only Shakespeare and Thoreau and Milton provide great and worthy messages. I know that many will dismiss Mr. Sparks' books as fluff, but I think that any writing that moves so many people in such a positive way is indeed "great literature." Buy this book, and enjoy! (And buy The Notebook and Message in a Bottle also if you haven't read them yet! I also recommend Richard Paul Evans.)
Rating: Summary: Rather disappointing Review: I'd never read anything by Sparks before, and must say I'm not terribly impressed. The plot was extremely predictable, the characters unrealistic and pigeonholed, and the writing style lazy. On a positive note: the cover was pretty.
Rating: Summary: FANTASTIC! Review: Be sure and set aside a few hours. You won't be able to put it down! What a wonderful story of a love you don't see too often. Have the tissue box close by!
