Rating: Summary: Sparks was Right Review: Just like the phenomenal author Nicholas Sparks warned me, I smiled and I cried while reading this book. It is a true tale of love. The main character Landon Carter cannot help falling in love with strange but kind Jamie Sullivan. Landon's love for Jamie was a true test of time as revealed in the surprise ending. Nicholas Sparks has a great talent, each book of his has captivated me and left me amazed. I srongly recommend this book to anyone who has loved another.
Rating: Summary: Could've, Should've... Review: been good. Instead it was a big disappointment. I cried til my eyes swelled after reading Notebook and Message...not a single tear was shed for this one. It's a sad story but it just didn't do it for me. I agree with the readers who said it's good for a teenager, not for a mature reader. Everything was so one-dimensional, there was nothing there. Maybe if Jamie and Landon's relationship developed faster we would've been more drawn in but in the end it was sad but I didn't really care.
Rating: Summary: A Walk to Forget Review: Ok, if you haven't figured out the formula yet, here it is. Boy meets girl, some conflict exists between them. The conflict is resolved, they fall hopelessly in love. Something happens, one of them dies, the other is left alone (somewhat more reflective, having loved and lost) at the end of the story. The result is tons of tears and a trip up the best-seller lists. After Sparks stole the love-story genre with The Notebook, I thought more could be expected of him. Instead of challenging himself and the reader with the two books that followed (Message in a Bottle and A Walk to Remember), Sparks simply dusted off the old outline, changed the character names and resubmitted to the best-seller lists. Buried within this criticism is a nugget of praise for The Notebook which I felt was tightly crafted and a true love story. Although it is roughly the same size and written by the same author, A Walk to Remember is not in the same class.
Rating: Summary: MARVELOUS! Review: Once again Sparks touched my every emotion. One minute I was crying, and the next I was laughing. At the end of this "marvelous" novel all I wanted to do was hold my husband and declare how lucky I am to have him in my life. I can not wait for a fourth novel from this VERY talented author. Well done, Sparks, well done!
Rating: Summary: One of the best books i've ever read. Review: Never have I read a book as touching as this. This book kept me at the edge of my seat. One can usually predict how a book ends up, but I had know idea with this book, not only at the end, but all through the book. And being 17 y/o myself, it taught me a few things.
Rating: Summary: A Walk To Remember Review: "A Walk To Remember" is a must read. I absolutly loved it . . . Sparks, you are a genious! The love/ and or relationship that both Landon and Jamie had is so awesome. There were even curve balls where I had not expected them. This book has every sort of emotion you ever wanted to feel in a book. Thanx Sparks, keep up the awesome work.
Rating: Summary: wow! Review: I loved this book. I can't stop telling people about it. Mr. Sparks does a great job of describing youth and all it's emotions. I cried and cried and cried. (and many of my friends got it for Christmas! )
Rating: Summary: Motherless daughter reviews Mr. Sparks latest Review: I've read all three of Sparks' bestsellers. I loved THE NOTEBOOK and purchased several copies to share with my friends as gifts. Like Jamie Sullivan, I was raised by my father. My mother died in 1959 when I was five years old. A lesson I learned from Dad was the old "if you can't say something good about something, don't say anything as all." Therefore, I end my review right here!
Rating: Summary: True Love Exists at Any Age Review: This book brought me to tears just like his past two have. I am only seventeen years of age, but this book makes you believe that true unconditional love is possible at any age. A Walk to Remember is without out a doubt my favorite of the three books, it relates to all ages, shows the trials of teenagers and makes you happy and sad all at once. I recommend this book to anyone who believes in true love.
Rating: Summary: A great book! Review: This is one of the absolute best books I have ever read! It goes by too quick. I wish it would have been longer. Nicholas Sparks is one of the best writers of our time. His language is just beautiful. I wish he would write more.
