Rating: Summary: A Tale to Remember Review: Nicholas Sparks' "A Walk to Remember" is the most riveting story of innocent first love that I've ever read. The opening line in the first and last chapters brought tears to my eyes. "When I was seventeen my life changed forever." Read everything in between and you'll share my reaction. The plot is easy to follow, perhaps even unoriginal but the story is nonetheless irresistible and at its best is a breath-taking story of the joy, pain, and confusion that life can throw at us when we are least prepared. I only hope that every person who deserves to find their one true love will one day meet their own Jamie Sullivan. I only wish I had known such a girl when I was seventeen as I am sure every man who has (or will) read this short but life-changing story.
Rating: Summary: Good story Review: Another great book by my favorite author! The book BTW is better than the movie!
Rating: Summary: The most moving book I've ever read Review: A Walk to Remember was by far the most heart-warming book I've ever read. It was so sad, but absolutley fabulous! Anyone can read this!
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Amazing and Touching Review: I honestly do not know where to start on praising this amazing book. It was so incredibly good! I read the entire thing in one sitting (in one day). The message of this novel is pure and just very lovely. The characters and their lives were so real and so perfectly written, and I am so glad that I ever stumbled upon this great read. I am an avid reader and enjoy the activity very much, but never have I read a book and been so enthralled and amazed! I cried so incredibly hard at the end of this novel, and I will never forget my experience of reading it. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is in for a very touching story with a great message!
Rating: Summary: Waste of Time Review: I cannot fathom why this book has so many entries with a rating of five stars. There is no depth to either the characters or the story, and it did not engage me. It brought me neither laughter nor tears. I've not read anything else by this author, and I'm not likely to do so.
Rating: Summary: good Review: my friend lent me this book. I also saw the movie after reading. I enjoyed both but I think the book was better. This was a quick read which is great for me( mom of two).I can't wait to try more of Sparks books.
Rating: Summary: Amazing! Review: This book is by far the best book ever. It has a such a beautiful plot and is such a touching story. "It will bring laughter and tears...don't say I didn't warn you."-Nicholas Sparks. This quote is very true which makes it a book that you won't soon forget.
Rating: Summary: A Walk to Remember Review: I loved the book and was dissappointed when the movie didn't play out the same way. Nicholas Sparks knows how to grab a reader's heartstrings at any age.
Rating: Summary: A walk I will never forget Review: I recently read "A Walk to Remember" by Nicholas Sparks. After seeing the movie, I knew I had to read it. I must admit I am fonder of the book, now that I've read it, than I am of the movie. I love how Sparks writes the book from Landon Carter's point of view instead of Jamie's as in the movie. This lets you get to know how he's feeling about his family, girls, and life in general. Landon meets Jamie, the daughter of a preacher, in drama class at their high school. Jamie helps out Landon with his lines for the play against her wishes, but she always seems to see the good in everyone, no matter how bad their past has been, or what they have done. They spend a great deal of time together with rehearsing. Sparks does an excellent job of getting across to the reader that as much as Landon doesn't want to, he is falling for the preacher's daughter. As the story progresses, he realizes what he has been missing. He has made fun of this beautiful, pure girl ever since he could remember and it has taken him twelve years of school to realize. This book is written with a great deal emotion. Sparks warns the reader at the very beginning of the book, "First you will smile, and then you will cry-don't say you haven't been warned..." I cried over and over again for this book. Nicholas Sparks did a splendid job of portraying the characters of who they really were.
Rating: Summary: Good Book! Review: I like all of Nicholas Sparks Books.
