Summary: To Fran Ollweiler
Review: Get off your high horse Fran. A book does not necessarily have to "elevate my mind" to be considered as having been worthy of my time and money. While this is not the genre I am normally drawn to, I was very pleasantly surprised. This was a beautiful little story.

Nicholas Sparks takes his readers on a walk down memory lane while we laugh and cry (just as he forewarns)and wish for the innocence of 17 year old Landon Carter.

I cannot wait to pick up Nicholas Sparks' previous books and would highly recommend "A Walk to Remember".

Summary: What a waste of time....
Review: This book was a complete waste of my good time. I would have awarded it no stars if that was possible. I read it because it was the book chosen by a member of our local book club. I thought it was brainless and simplistic.

I had read The Notebook and Message in a Bottle, and while they did nothing to elevate my mind they were nice little stories. This one just made me mad that I paid good money for such a predictable story.

I will never buy another one of Nicholas Sparks books again. Fool me once, but never again.

Summary: Feel-good again
Review: Fast,feel-good read. Nicholas Sparks has done it again. Same type book as his others. If you liked any of them, you'll like this one too. He has captured the essence of being young and wanting to fit in with the crowd, even at the expense of innocence. I liked the humor in this book, even though it was scarce. The ending? I know what I think the miracle was. Do you know? Making your own assumptions is what I think helps make this a unique book.

Summary: To Charlie
Review: Charlie, He says that he never took off his wedding ring, because he never had the desire to. The miracle he prayed for was her survival. She lived!

Summary: How did it end?
Review: An easy read, enjoyable characters, good descriptions of the NC setting. And he was right, he made me laugh and he made me cry. But these people who say it's entirely predictable need to go back and read the book again. He prayed for a miracle and "miracles can happen". Some of these reviews seem sure there was a twist at the end. I'm still thinking about the book and trying to decide how it ended. What was the miracle?

Summary: Worth reading time and time again
Review: This book is definitely an one nighter. Sparks knows how to grab your attention and never let it go. A story of true love, maturity, spiritual values, and death combined beautifully into words. This book is definitely a must read and reread time and time again. Just a friendly note: Make sure you have a box of tissue close by. Finally when you done crying over this book make sure you read his other two: Message in a bottle and The Notebook. All three will touch your heart one way or another.

Summary: A major disappointment
Review: Having read both The Notebook and Message in a Bottle, I eagerly awaited Mr. Sparks' newest book. I really enjoyed the first two - my measuring stick - how many tears shed! A Walk to Remember was mediocre. It was easy to read and short, but did not hold my interest at all. The characters were not appealing and the pace was too slow. I will definitely not run out to buy his next release.

Summary: A Book To Remember
Review: This book was absolutely amazing. The last 10 pages make me cry every time I reread them. It is definately a book for those hopeless romantics. It definately makes you hope that there are guys like that out there.

Summary: A Wonderful, Light and Easy Story
Review: This story is easy reading. Just enough to keep your interest. A story of a teenage boy falling in love for the first time with the most unlikely person he had imagined. A boy coming into his own as a man and learning how to make life long decisions with the help of God. Good story for persons who have loved and lost that first love by some form or reason.

Summary: how can you say it's not great?
Review: after reading the reviews on this book, i felt i had to defend it. i started reading sparks when i read the NOTEBOOK, and this was the second sparks novel i read. the plots are great, sweet, and easy to follow. this book kind of left me hanging, and that made it a great read. i recommend it. i fully intend to read his other novel, message in a bottle, next.
