Review: If only because this book is heaven and I cry every time I read it. Which happens to be so often that my classmates have gotten used to seeing me with bloodshot eyes. Brilliantly written, this is my favorite Sparks book to date. Nicholas is amazing at writing believable teenage characters, and being a teenager, I can easily relate to those in the book. This novel is so heart-wrenchingly sweet from beginning to end, you'll never be able to put it down. Even once I was finished, I had to go back and read my favorite parts over again. This is a breath-taking work by a talented author.

Review: If you loved Sparks' other books, you'll love this one, too. I thought that it started slower than his other books, but once it got going, I couldn't put it down. It's a touching story and it's a guaranteed cry :)

Summary: Possitive, generally well written but disappointingly trite
Review: Such a storyline isn't risky ground upon which to tread. If you're looking for a good yarn; a book to warm your heart and nurture your spirit, this might be up your alley. But Sparks, more than anything, succumbs to predictability in his writing: thematically, in plot design/execution and even in prose style. A Walk to Remember is your usual story about the power of love, note the netwroks coiling for the pounce. But the novel is bereft of reality specifically because of the sense of overly romantic fulfillment with which it ends. Likewise, the storyline is ludicrously simple to predict, often falling upon the crutch of popular cliche. The most venturesome move of the the novel is the raw verbal style with which Sparks opens, as if conversing directly with the reader. This, however, degenerates quickly and falls into the venerable but commonplace narrative style that never degrades a book yet equally fails to bolster. I respect Sparks the most for his ability to write well within his mold, supermarket fiction, lacking the monolithic style of Grisham or Crichton but running in stride with the similar but more succesful Steele. Sparks is the poster-child relaxation writer. If you havn't graced the pages of a novel in some time, ween yourself back in with this one. If you don't wish to be provoked, read Sparks as well. Lastly, if your looking for the American story; the uplifting but foolishly whimsy, grab this one the next time your in line to buy milk.

Summary: A book I'll never forget
Review: This was just a great book. My mom sent it to me at school and I figured I might pick it up on the weekend maybe. Once I picked it up I couldn't put it down! Landon Carter, the main character, is a regular high school teenager in the fifties. Landon ends up falling for Jamie Sullivan, the girl he'd made fun of all growing up. Jamie carried a Bible around with her at school and was always cheerful. Today she might shot but in the fifties she just got made fun of. Landon was forced to ask her to homecoming because all his other options were taken. They hit off from there and keep the reader's eyes glued to the pages. The ending is purely great and will have an effect on readers of all ages. This is a must read regardless of your religious standpoint and your level of sensitivity.

Review: Nicholas Spark's novel "A Walk to Remember" would have to be one of the best books I've read in a long time. It starts off with a guy named Landon reliving his past. When he was 17 his life changed forever. He begins the story by telling us about his senior year in high school. There was this one girl that was always the one in his class who everybody picked on. Her name was Jamie Sullivan. She wore plain clothes and her hair always in a bun. Jamie and Landon had always been friends but never really close. When the homecoming dance came around everybody started finding dates. Landon didnt' have anyone left to ask so he decided to ask Jamie. She excitedly said yes but left him with one sentence...to make sure that he never falls in love with her. Landon didn't really understand but he said ok and they went together. After the dance they kind of hit it off. They began falling in love with each other, always thinking about each other, never wanting to be apart. Jamie had warned him about this but they couldnt' help themselves. Then one day after he had walked her home, she told Landon that she had to tell him something important. That was when she muttered two little words that changed both of their lives forever: "I'm dying." Yes, Jamie Sullivan, sweetest girl you would ever have met, was dying of leukemia and was said to only have a few more months. Right then Landon knew he had to do something to keep them together forever. The next few weeks Landon and Jamie were inseperable. Landon kept trying to think of special things to do for her. On one of her last days Jamie gave Landon a special gift that she wanted him to have since it meant so much to her. The bible that she never lets out of her sight. A few days before Jamie died Landon knew what he had to do. He went to her in bed and asked her to marry him. The one thing Jamie had always wanted was to have a nice wedding with her father walking her down the aisle. That's exactly how it turned out. And then Jamie died. Atleast they both got what they wanted. This book was extremely good. I would recommend anybody reading it. I guarantee you'll love it!

Review: This is such a good book! I was just getting bored cuz I couldn't Harry Potter and I read this. I could barely let go of this book! I was about to cry towards the end, but couldn't since I was in a school bus, but then I decided it was impossible not to so I didn't read the book till later. This is the best book I've ever read. It was so intense, I'd rate a 10 if I could.

Summary: Great Story!
Review: I've read all of Sparks' novels except The Rescue, and I have to say, this one is superb! I really enjoy his books, but this one left me with a smile, and a warmth that differed from the rest. If you want a book to make you feel young again, a book that makes you remember what its like to be new to love, this one will do it. I'm looking forward to reading The Rescue!

Summary: Bittersweet Love Story
Review: Are you a girl? Then you will love this book! Are you a boy? You may not like it quite as much. A Walk to Remember is a bittersweet, inspiring book. It starts out with a man who is in his late fifties telling about his senior year in high school. This man's name is Landon Carter. The year is 1958, and he lives in Beaufort, North Carolina. Landon is a fairly normal young man, who in his own words, doesn't really excel in anything. He is elected president of his senior class, and Homecoming is soon to arrive. He doesn't have a date, so he decides to invite Jamie Sullivan, a girl he has known all his life. Jamie is a do-gooder. Her favorite activities include reading the Bible and visiting the orphanage, not to mention that her dad is the pastor of the local church that Landon attends. He asks her, and she agrees. At the dance, Landon's ex-girlfriend, Angela, shows up drunk and makes quite a mess in the bathroom. Jamie and Landon clean it up, and Landon realizes that Jamie really is different. She convinces him to be the lead in a Christmas pageant, one that has been performed every year, called "The Christmas Angel", and it just so happens that Jamie's dad wrote the play. He agrees, grudgingly. Throughout the practices, Landon walks Jamie home, and they talk about all sorts of things, mostly God, since Jamie is a devout Christian. For Christmas, Jamie gives Landon a Bible, but not just any Bible. It's the Bible that belonged to her mother before she died giving birth to Jamie. This is a very special gift for Landon. He soon finds himself falling in love with Jamie. They spend a lot of time together. Before long, Landon finds out that Jamie is very sick. In fact she has a very rare case of leukemia, and she is dying. In the little time that they have left together, Jamie still inspires Landon and never feels sorry for herself. A little time before she dies, they decide to get married. After she dies, the story returns to present day, and the man, Landon Carter is still very much in love with Jamie and always will be. Despite the sadness of her death, Landon comes to know Christ through her, and knows the true meaning of love.

Summary: The Best Book Ever
Review: For all those people who gave a review before me, and said they did not like this book- there is only one thing that I can say and that is you are crazy! Being a 17 year old girl I found this book to be heart warming, and an inspiration to all shy girls. After the first chapter I was stuck in the life of Landon and his love for Jamie. Towards the end the book brought tears to my eyes. I plan to read more of Sparks books after this one.

Summary: Wonderful story of a first love!
Review: I purchased this book at an airport - just to pass the time. It did far more than just pass the time, it consumed the time and made a lasting impression, a story I will remember for a long time. I couldn't put it down! When I read the author's prologue "First you will smile, then you will cry", he knew exactly what he was talking about! I DID smile, I DID cry! The book was very well written and a wonderful, delightful story! I recommend this book to all ages. A great story for the young and old! Bravo Nicholas Sparks! Another great novel that I've very much enjoyed!
